Any decent characters this season? Watched the last few but not bothered this time around.Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 1:57 pmWill get on it if I can tear the missus away from catching up with 17 epsiodes of MAFS Australia
Loool I’m intrigued. With the amount of advice in there I do find myself picking up tips.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 3:18 pmAny decent characters this season? Fun fact: MAFS Australia went some way to rescuing my relationship.
Love that.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 8:02 pm Mrs PJ was in Aus with the in-laws for a month during mat leave and it wasn't exactly like things were on the rocks, but there'd been a bit of tension and that, mainly around me being a bit useless (fair). So basically, watching MAFS while she was away and I saw that these people (mainly the blokes, but some of the women as well) were all absolute morons who had no idea how to form or maintain functional relationships and, while appreciating these were all picked to make good telly, there was no way I was going to head down that path. Pathetic as it sounds, also genuinely took on board some of the stuff the experts said about taking on more responsibility and being proactive and thought "hmm, could be doing a bit better here, PJ".
When she got back after about a week she mentioned she'd noticed a massive difference and I had to just say "please don't kill me cos I know you've tried having these conversations before and it's ridiculous, but it's down to MAFS". Fortunately she found it pretty hilarious and, Dear Reader, three years on we're still doing alright.
Sounds like she should be grateful that you weren't watching something like Don Draper in Mad Men instead.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 8:02 pm Mrs PJ was in Aus with the in-laws for a month during mat leave and it wasn't exactly like things were on the rocks, but there'd been a bit of tension and that, mainly around me being a bit useless (fair). Seconded. Definitely a recommended watch.Chicken Dhansak wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 9:52 am Just watched the most amazing film. A Norweigian film called "Number 24" on Netflix It's about the Norweigian resistance and the acting and production of this film kept me absolutely rivited. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed it. That family, disappointing outcome.
I thought the Danny Dyer bit was a highlight. Bob Mortimer is one of the few people alive who genuinely deserves the title 'National Treasure'.Long slender neck wrote: ↑Thu Apr 10, 2025 4:46 pm LOL- yeah it was pretty chucklesome. Danny Dyer bit got awkward. Spoilers below:
ra should've won it
Thirded. Would never have checked this out if not for the recommendations on here but very glad this was flagged up. A wonderful film and, as CD said, riveting.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 7:26 amSeconded. Yeah, I assume so? Something about being able to partition the memory into multiple pieces, so that traumas can be split off and forgotten?Rich Tea Wellin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 12:16 pm Enjoyed Severance S2 overall. Liked the finale (spoiler: so are lumon in the business of creating something to remove peoples pain right?)
Thank you for this. What a remarkable man Gunnar Sonsteby was.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 11:22 amThirded.
