Dom Telford for one πŸ€”πŸ€”
Looking to go to higher league. Good striker but we have just as good already. Also will command a high wage that we cannot afford.
Would you like to name the strikers we have, that are just as good as Dom Telford?
Funnily enough, I can't think of anyone we have that scored 20+ goals last season, as Telford did
Johnson had 1 good season

I thought the overall goal tally last season of:

Drinan - 16
Smith - 15
Sotiriou - 11
Archibald - 8

In all competitions was a good return, sometimes you don't necessarily need one 20 goal a season man (although of course it does help) if your front 3/4 can return good numbers. Which makes last years mid season collapse when we was barely scoring all the more frustrating.

I take your point but Drinan scored 13 League goals, as did Smith. Sotiriou got 9.
I would grab Telford with both hands, ( not literally ), if we could have him at Orient.
I do know there's not a chance as he wants to play higher up the leagues

Classic symptom of not having the strength in depth to navigate the tough winter fixture schedule. As it stands history will repeat itself unless we get freakishly good fortune with no injuries or suspensions. Even then a midfield of Clay, Pratley and the 4 kids isn't going to cut it.

Need another striker to come in with the quality to add cover for Drinan and give us a wildcard option. Wellens mentioned a higher league Young loanee for that which would be ideal if we get someone decent, not Ling's usual weak filler signings.

Correction - one good half season to be precise!

Archibald and Mitchell might argue with that

Omotoye and Moss definitely wouldn't

Pre season starts tomorrow and we haven’t signed anyone, yes Archibald etc but new players to improve last seasons squad. We must be getting rejected by a couple of players I can’t see how RW wouldn’t of wanted some new faces in by now to have a full pre season with the squad.

Ling must be asking sam if he has any recommendations.

It might be the case we've been turned down by a couple of players . I think Thompson would have been a good signing but he went to Peterborough .

I agree , I’d rather have the goal scoring shared around than rely on one player . If that player gets injured you’ve had it .

If I read it properly he only had one good season which was last season . Before that he was nothing much . It'll be interesting to see how he goes next season .

Taking out the equation all our newly re-signed players the only Orient player I can think about who could draw attention is Ogie. IMO, Ogie isn't ready to step up a level just yet but I reckon he will be shortly . Hopefully that step up will be with Orient .

I think Harry Smith might go - some rumours that Gillingham might bid for him. Drinan will start and Smith is likely to be on the bench, big man with a few goals to his name will attract clubs if he is not starting RW has said he would like to bring in experience in midfield and a younger striker so would make sense.

Yes, central midfielders we know we need . A new young striker is mean't to back up a strike force that includes Smith. Do we not already have that younger striker in Sonny Fish ? Anyway , if the club really wants promotion then we should keep all our remaining players and add two or three more .
