It'll really poor if we don't bring in a proper signing for this, we've let 4 strikers go, two for good money so only signing half of that back permanently isn't enough for a level above.

Overall if it were a word I'd be whelmed by this signing. Not overwhelmed, not underwhelmed but ready to see what he can do with no preconceptions. Welcome and good luck for the new season Lee, hope you smash some goals in for us.
Who are the four forwards we have let go? Bonne, Koroma, Simpson and who?

We've only signed two forwards so far. It's also July 1 today. If we have still not signed another/other signings a week before the season I can understand you crying about it. Travis himself said there will be news about two forwards in the next week or so on the Orient Outlook Podcast last week. Why can't you just wait and see and potentially save yourself some tears?

And when that Charlton club is dead
And Koroma's legs are lead
Thoughts running through my head
I'm loving Angol instead.

I reckon looking at the strikers we have now.... Angol and Wilkinson look like they are decent finishers and Wilkinson perhaps good at hold up play, neither the tricky type to beat a man.
Harrold obviously is the head on a stick.
Alabi, not convinced he will be used.

This leaves us missing the striker a bit like Koroma, who has some pace to stretch a defence and work something for himself. I'd reckon in the loan market there would be several of these types of forwards, all untested. Perhaps that guy West Ham signed from Solihull?

Alabi is good as gone, certainly not in the plans once you put someone on the transfer list that early in pre-season.

When we get the signings then we can rejoice. Until then I reserve judgement. Want to see us compete in this league, not struggle at the bottom looking over our shoulders.

You should know by now I have no interest in those podcasts

I've just remembered, didn't Danny Webb all but sign Coulthirst in our relegation season before Beelzebub pulled the plug on him. Coulthirst is a player we've been interested with in the past so hopefully he's the other incoming striker

What is the obsession with Coulthirst?

I've been wondering the same. He's being overrated on some metric for sure despite being an average player at L2 level.

He missed 2 sitters against us at the end of the season? He'll fit right in.

Bonne and Koroma have both missed sitters, what's that got to do with anything.

Because in my opinion we need some more pace up front and he provides something different. I see him as a straight swap for Koroma.

He's not the only player with pace and who could offer something different. We also don't know about Barnet's motivation to sell him and how feasible he is given how he has performed at this level before.

JMD is the replacement for Koroma. Very skillful and tricky. This is a big season for him.

Can't see JMD playing that far forward.

Who were the barnet strikers that ripped our previously tight defence apart at their place towards the end of the season? They looked a proper handful.

As long as the N don’t stand for No then I fine.

Looking at the club statement it’s refreshing that they have been looking at the guy for some time, so have had ample opportunity to get it right. Also seems to have the right attitude. Look forward to seeing him in action.

Mason-Clark is one, not sure who you mean for the other one. If we managed to sign Mason-Clark or Louis Dennis that would be great business.

Pleased with Angol signing though, as I was with Wilkinson. Hopefully both settle quickly and we play to their strengths, both could score 10+ at this level I think, and with another supposedly signing there is some encouragement there.

I’m with you on this Red. Would have been my choice but it’s not going to happen. Shame. But let’s hope Angol does the business.

I don't think this was validating your point. We shouldn't make decisions based on a sample size of one game (especially when the forwards that "ripped us to shreds" couldn't score that day).
