So far the police have spent 37m policing the protest, which is 15m more than they spent on violent crime in the whole of 2018.

Who knew the crusties would be so badly behaved. Such a shame for the movement that reasonable behaviour can't be adhered to.

I think rabid veganism has a lot to answer for. There is a group in Brighton terrorising small shops and their customers. Needless to say there is the normal moral cowardice with the wearing of masks and scarves, it just shows the depth of belief. "I believe but not enough to get arrested" sums them up, at least the peope in London seem happy to be carted off to jail.

Maybe he is unpleasant and maybe he isn't. I don't have a clue but it shouldn't lessen the need for organisations like his to exist, or for them to have the right to protest.

I agree, we should always have the right to protest. However the two leaders are turning out to be let's shall we say not so nice people.

But I get the point he has made, that there have been lots of other instances where millions of people have been killed in equally vicious circumstances. That is true.

Yes I wondered too why he would raise that issue in the first place and in the manner he did.

All I can think is that he has a very negative, almost misanthropic, view of humankind and its constant inhumanity and that he sees inhumanity as a constant throughout history.

But even if you are on a real downer about your fellow man its not acceptable to lead a social movement and be so dismissive and disrespectful.
