Françoise Hardy - French singer @ age 80 - and boy did I have a crush on her (and Jane Birkin) in my younger days.
Sorry, just seen the earlier post. Her passing has been reported already. Anyways I'm sure you all wanted to know about my teenage crushes. No, why ever not.

Yes, what is it about the allure of the Gallic charm?

Don't necessarily know if this is the right place to post it, but my Dad who posted under the username 'jamespevans' passed away last year on 30/07/2023. He left the area in the 90's and we've been predominantly going to away games all of my life, so finding this forum was a great way for him to reconnect with the fanbase. This forum was always a little bit of fun for him and he loved telling me and my sister the post-match verdict/ratings from other fans.
I know it's a bit cheesy, but I'd like to sincerely thank this forum for being a net positive in my Dad's life. You all matter, you all genuinely have an effect on each other's lives and I genuinely wish you all the best.
P.S - I'm not overly familiar with the forum 'culture', so please delete this if I've posted this in the wrong place and I apologise for the inconvenience.

sh*t!
I am shocked to hear that. Over the years I wouldnt say we got along and I dont recall him posting a lot recently but I am truly sorry to hear that.
Your Dad is fairly well known on here and even has his own sort of meme as he was known for things/jokes going over his head.
We are all sorry for your loss, 'pevans' was a good bloke.

Oh, pevans!
Firstly, thank you for letting us know about this sad news. As has been said, your dad was well known on here. While acclimatising himself to forum etiquette, he had a few jokes go over his head, which led to the creation of the "oh, pevans" meme. Something he fully embraced in the spirit it was intended.
He also had his own opinions on various issues, which we was happy to defend and argue for when necessary. But always in a polite and respectful way. Most of us will not have known him in person, but he came across a thoroughly decent person and is missed. I am sorry for your loss.

Seconding what dunners said, while not knowing him in person your Dad came across as a really good egg and I'm sad to hear this news but also glad that he enjoyed being a part of the MB community. Sorry for your loss, onepostanddone.
