New series of Day of the Jackal is, to my surprise, good. It doesn't try to recreate the film, but is a short series influenced by the book. I've watched three of the five episodes, so hopefully it doesn't tank in the final two, but so far this one is recommended.

Started it yesterday. Really enjoying it, though could do without the tired “can’t get to parents evening” tropeDunners wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 12:53 pm New series of Day of the Jackal is, to my surprise, good. There's quite a few tropes in there, but I just accept that as part of the course, nowadays.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 12:59 pmStarted it yesterday. I was going to try to fit a malapropism into that last post but I couldn't be asked.

I'm 3 or 4 episodes in now and very much enjoying it. Agree about the - shared - "work stopping me being a good parent" thing. Also a little bit put off by the Mission Impossible latex mask thing, but I'll let it slide.CEB2ElectricBoogaloo wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 12:59 pmStarted it yesterday.
