That's really sad - When I travelled the UK on business for many years I spent my afternoons listening to Steve, he was a great presenter.

Fond memories of long car journeys as a kid listening to Steve Wright in the Afternoon and when R2 was the office station of choice for a while in the mid 00s. Sad news.

Seems to have been universally respected and liked - a rare thing.
