If Fletcher is chosen, it will be a terrible decision, but I guarantee the next day we will have a video from Ling, spouting the usual bollocks, in his dreary monotone voice justifying it
I can't believe a better candidate wasn't available.
‘It will be a terrible decision”
And this is everything wrong with some of the cretinous fan base we’ve got. Some fans have such short memories.
It’s still only just over 2 years ago we were a non league club been run into the ground with nothing to it’s name but a couple of corner flags. It’s a little over 4 months since we’ve lost the possibly the best manager this club has ever had in the most tragic of ways, plus lost our two best strikers.
And yet despite this, we sit pretty much in mid table, as a football league club in where attending matches again at Brisbane Road is a fantastic experience once again. And that’s largely down to what those upstairs have achieved and put in place at this great club.
But an online alias apparently knows better to brand it a ‘terrible decision’ before the guys even started
Its called an opinion....you obviously have trouble with that!

Unless you are Mystic Meg , then I would suggest that only time will tell if the decision is “ terrible” or not. Hopefully you will at least give the bloke an opportunity to prove himself? As to better candidates being available then you may well be right, however we don’t know if they were interested in applying especially given the number of vacancies that have cropped up in the three weeks or so since RE decided to give notice.A lot of names have been bandied about on betting websites but unless you have inside knowledge we’ll never know who actually made the interview stage will we, because no one at the club is likely to divulge it.
The chances are this is a terrible appointment.
He ticks non of the boxes and almost certainly was not first or forth choice.
As usual Byways is being his usual complimentary self at anything the club does.
If it is Carl Fletcher then FFS let’s give the guy a chance before some on here crucify him before he’s even joined us.
Unfortunately we can’t bring Justin back but let’s give whoever takes over a chance.

I’ve had to google him, can’t remember him playing at all.
It can’t be him though, it seems he only had one stint as a manager at Plymouth back in their basket case days and that was over 5 years ago.
It is.
I'd be inclined to back Eddie Howe's judgement. I'm sure that he's no fool. He's managed to do fairly well for 5 years under one of England's most progressive managers. He's leaving a position of relative safety to take a risk - the Orient job could sink him if he's a flop. I'm looking at the positive

What a clown you are.
No other club have considered him seriously since the mess of a job he made at Plymouth.
If we are going down this route then we might as well promoted someone from within.
There is no way this bloke was first choice and it looks like he might turn it down as well.
Rodney tweeted that the betting markets never saw Edinburgh coming (I can't remember who were favourites in the betting).
I actually reckon it won't be Fletcher. His credentials don't stack up to me. The story about him being offered the job sound a bit like fake news put out by the club either to put pressure on the real guy to agree terms or to make sure another club doesn't get involved. Considering he would have had to applied, he would have decided on the offer in a few minutes.
The owners ain't stupid, I think they're trolling the fans. Rodders loves a bit of the cryptic bollox, and he must be thinking, 'we're appointing someone with no recent experience and we're paying money for him, and still there are fans kissing our arses and saying we are right!'
If it is fletch that’s appointed then when he walks through that door he will be instantly respected by the players. He played at the very top level and players are not fools they won’t accept any old tom willy or Harry, but be being a proven player on the international stage straight away they will be like ok you’ve got our attention so he starts off on a positive. It’s then how he treats them, the direction he sets, the training sessions he puts on and the motivation he provides.
Teague has tweeted that fans would be surprised at the appointment. Now that can mean anything, surprised because it is someone we have not heard much of, or a big name we never thought we would get.
I wonder if Luton kicked up this much of a fuss when the unproven academy coach Nathan Jones first got the job?
Take a chill pill & give him a chance. If it is Fletcher he may surprise all of us.
Whichever way you look at it, its an unusual decision.
We dont really know about the other candidates and perhaps the more experienced choices wouldn't work without their own backroom staff or the money was not good enough.
In the end, if it goes well, it will be seen as an inspired choice. If it goes badly, it will be seen as a stupid decision to go for someone with little L1/L2 experience.
