Yep, confirmed. 65 years old. Possibly saw him live (with The Pogues, The Popes and solo) more than any other.

It’s kinda curious / ironic that an anti-airport expansion group in Essex, who fought Darling tooth and nail, only last night voted to begin to wind down its mainstream activities.
