I don't think its nice to share a photo like that.
I know. But that's his partner who has shared it. And she's shared quite a few which he appears to be okay with.
He has been Ill for some time now and looked very similar about 6 months ago when there was an article in The Sunday Times about him and his much younger wife. He has been in a wheelchair for well over a year.

Sad news, I just saw that news on the bbc sports website. Great football coach, very good footballer when he played, a great character who lived life to the full.

All of the above is very true, but his honesty and integrity in business left a lot to be desired.

If he had just stuck to football.. management.
Brilliant manager at Palace & England especially
Thus his reputation as being a bit of a cockney wide boy !
He had so many talents including branching off into being on tv shows, singing and all round entertainment.

As a milk boy I used to deliver milk to him and Ted Fenton who both lived in the same road in Gants Hill. Always smiling and usually cracked a joke when I knocked for the week’s payment

One of my earliest football memories is him consoling Southgate in 96. Very big character

Sad about this. Not been in the public eye as much lately but a bit mad that he was 80, always got him in mind as a guy in his 50s. Sign of getting older I guess.

He’s a classic example of a guy where the obituaries will be full of euphemisms “ducking and diving” will feature a lot, I imagine

Geordie from Killing Joke sadly gone.
His thumping guitar was something to behold. Soundtracked the early 80's for me.

Absolutely gutted by this. No-one else played a guitar like that. Killing Joke played some of the most brutal, intense gigs I’ve ever been to, all led by that epic sound he wrung out of that innocuous -looking Gibson.
It’s also the end of one of my favourite bands, which is also tough to take. RIP Geordie.

Jonathan Liew in the guardian with a particularly creative example of this:
