Health minister Nadine Dorries has been accused of spreading "fake news"

https://www.aol.co.uk/news/2020/05/14/m ... our-leade/

As Wes Streeting correctly points out (quote) "You had time to do this despite being a Minister in the Department of Health during a public health crisis".

What a pathetic woman.

The Prince of Wales voluntarily pays income tax at the 45 per cent rate on his income from the Duchy of Cornwall, after his business-related costs are deducted. His taxes are checked by HMRC, like anyone else, which reviews all his business deductions. However the Duchy of Cornwall itself is exempt from corporation Tax.

He lost me at the voluntarily paying tax bit.

Why is the Duchy exempt from CT?

So he pays tax on income drawn from a tax free enterprise but only on a voluntary basis BUT after deducting business expenses?

This is sounding very much like Camerons Dad's Offshore scam (Remember that?). Except this one is onshore. Nice.

No denying that, he didn't have to work hard to pick up the Duchy of Cornwall gig did he, but to say he doesn't pay tax isn't right.

Diane Abbott. The same Diane Abbott who held jobs in the civil service and as a researcher and then presenter on TV-AM?

The Diane Abbott who attended both grammar school and Cambridge in an era when black students in those surroundings was almost unheard of?

Diane Abbott - the first black woman MP and longest serving black MP who’s generally acknowledged as a pathfinder for the countless BAME MP’s who followed her.

Interesting choice you made there. Any idea why you chose her and why she still receives abuse of a daily basis for an error she made 3 years ago whilst other shitbags in and out of government float along untouched regardless of the havoc they wreak?

To be fair, Patel can’t even read numbers out never mind remember them and no one goes on about that anymore, so you can’t play the racist and misogynist card on this one.

Disagree. Patel’s got plenty of pelters (admittedly not as much as Abbott) for her error. Someone like Hancock or Gove wouldn’t get anywhere near what those two got.

Believe me, I’m no fan of Patel - she’s a swivel eyed loon but I still believe she copped more abuse for being a BAME woman.

My wife had a very depressing conversation with her uncle the other day. He's a retired NHS lab tec. He still has a lot of friends who work in the sector and their assessment of where we're at is pretty grim. What's worse is that they have a lot of spare capacity but they're not being used because the Government agreed a deal to outsource our lab tec to the US where its undertaken by far less qualified people. This outsourcing has cost a small fortune and added to massive delays and flawed processing and analysis.
