Roger Whittaker, singer dies aged 87.

I loved his style and I have requested "The Last Farewell" as part of the Music at my funeral as a homage to the girls I met in the ports of the world, when I was in the Merchant Navy.

Whistling will never be the same again.

But what a short and lousy obituary on the BBC website.

Missed it because we were on holiday, actress Jean Boht - Nellie Boswell, of Bread and the brick mobile phone in pinny pocket fame. "Bread" what a great Carla Lane comedy, loved it and still do and being half-Liverpudlian, I know it was so true to life.

He had a very unique and rich singing voice , so underrated. I think the record was Mexican Whistler, a super tune. Shame he seemed to have disappeared from our screens a long time ago . God Bless him and rest his soul.

A.K.A. Illya Kuryakin - one of the Men from U.N.C.L.E., how I loved that programme. McCallum & Vaughan, two such cool guys.

He was good in NCIS too and No. 2 daughter loved him in that programme.

Very understated, a trained musician , had many talents. Was married to Jill Ireland until Charles Bronson sniffed about during the filming of The Great Escape.

On Saturdays we always rushed to buy the Football Pink at 6pm with the first football reports - and plenty of typos. I remember one that read that Franny Lee “had a twenty five yard shi@ that hit the post” I suppose that influenced him to start manufacturing bog paper.

It slipped under the radar, but Suzanne Somers ( the blonde from Three’s Company) died on Sunday 15th October aged 76. Teenaged me, would miss her dearly.

Burt Young, the actor best known for playing Paulie in “Rocky,” has died. He was 83-years-old.

Reminds me of that (very) old joke. I thought Lee 1 pen was a Chinese player.

Burt Young, most famous role Rocky, but my favourite performance was in Choirboys.
