Agree. Gone to his head a bit, which you'd think he'd have been wary of after seeing Paul go the same way.

Totally.

Guarantee he’s an absolute fool in real life, and it’s his real character that’s coming out now.

Really hoping that Di- Anne’s death will be avenged some time soon.

Jaz in season 2 is like a modern day retelling of the Cassandra myth

Appreciate this is a little selfish, but could I ask that spoilers for a current series are put on a separate thread, maybe? (unless, like some message boards, there's a facility to hide potential spoilers on posts)

Re: Traitors - I've never watched S1, but just started watching episode 1 of S2 (about 10 minutes in). So far all the contestants seem like the usual loud, desperate, extrovert thickos. Am I going to find them this annoying the whole way through?

Great ending.
Wanted to put my fist through the telly. Grass broke the traitors vow.

Just watched Poor Things at the cinema and don’t know what to think. Part of me was considering leaving after the first half hour. Gruesome, troubling and extremely problematic. Emma Stone is half naked in most of the film which I’d normally see as a selling point but it was sort of all stomach churning.

In a very strange way I related to her character a lot. Music was awful but purposefully and helped achieve what I think it was trying to achieve.

For some reason they cast a load of yanks to play English and Scottish people and mark Ruffalos accent is d1ck van dyke-esque.
The script had some comedic lines which fell flat because it was so dark.

I THINK it was trying to be a piece on the male gaze and control, women owning their sexuality but it was clumsily done. My missus left and said, I guarantee it was written by a man.

Oscar’s will probably lap it up but wouldn’t recommend seeing.

And a shout out to the fanny who booked the seat next to me, on his own, in a largely empty cinema who then furiously worked his way through about 7 tiny bags of popcorn

That's the behaviour of a psychopath. You're lucky you got out alive.

What did your partner do to deserve that?

The Holdovers- I liked it, but theres not much more to say about it. Not as good as Sideways.

Is the Holdovers on any of the streaming services yet or did you see it at the cinema?

I think Paul Giamatti is great in just about anything I have seen him in, and Sideways is one of those films I can always watch whenever it comes on.

“If anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any f*cking Merlot!”

It's incredible how much that one line in Sideways harmed the sale of Merlot wines.

Took my last chance to see it at the cinema. Will try and see Poor Things next week.

Also saw PG in American Splendor recently, another nice watch.

And for some Alexander Payne revision, watched Election.

I’d say it’s the first thing I’ve ever watched that I felt morally uncomfortable with. It’s ‘problematic’ and fails at what I think it’s trying to achieve. Interested to see what you think.

Really not a genre that interests me but it’s gripping with some quality performances, namely Oldman.
6 eps a season and they fly by

Went to see Frank Skinner at the Gielgud Theatre last night.

The first thing that struck me as he came on stage, was just how bloody old he looks. However, his mind was as sharp as ever and he delivered a decent night of standup comedy. He’s playing at this theatre until Saturday 17 February, and then on national tour if you want to catch him.
