Using the word " YOU" & following that with "hamas flag wavers" is a direct accusation, especially when you are responding to 1 individual on a message forum.FrankOFile wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 1:11 pmAnd an incorrect one, unless you are actually acknowledging Hamas as a terrorist organisation.Joe315 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 1:07 pmNope, its a direct accusation.FrankOFile wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 1:05 pm
You are conflating one quote with your own interpretation.
Try harder.
Which one is it?

Re: Israel
Looks like the warm up is over and we're now heading into the main event. Anyone taking bets on the result?

Re: Israel
I have already mentioned the West East Divan Orchestra recently. This morning I read this in the times , about an upcoming performance:
‘As the events in the Middle East unfold, around the world Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians have rarely seemed more estranged. Yet there’s at least one place where they still manage to talk to each other and live harmoniously (in every sense) at close quarters. Richard Morrison meets Michael Barenboim, whose father Daniel founded the West-Eastern Divan Ensemble in 1999 to bring together talented young Israeli and Arab musicians. Barenboim is due to lead the ensemble in London on November 11th, where, he says, “our message of peace must be louder than ever”

Re: Israel
I for one am looking forward to the day when Palestine shows true democracy in its political system, much like its pals and paymasters in Iran.
You know the ones - those who persecute, torture and murder women, children, gays and anyone who doesn't support their islamic ‘values’.

Re: Israel
It is good that the Israelis have reinstated the internet there as it is a step in the right direction and enables communications to those concerned. I would like to see support from Israel for the Palestinians to help them rebuild their homes and more charitable aid once things settle aiming for a long term solution. Hamas needs to be shown up for what they are. They are no friends of the Palestinians , just a hindrance to a peaceful solution. Like I have said previously, Jews and Palestinians get on fine in peacetimes . Hamas are there with the aim of stirring up trouble.

Re: Israel
Seems ridiculous to me, that Israel controls the Palestinians completely. Israel decides if they have internet, Israel decides if they have gas, Israel decides if they have Leccy etc etc
Who gave Israel this great power over another people, who have lived there for centuries?

If Hamas used as much effort building infrastructure as they did targeting innocent Israelis the region would be a better place.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 9:36 am Seems ridiculous to me, that Israel controls the Palestinians completely. Re: Israel
To be fair more Palestinians lived their than jewish people did when UK USA France & the U.N Divied up what became Israel/Palestine. Golda Mair Russian Yitzhak Rabin Palestine Menachem Begin Belarus Shimon Perez Poland. We must remember history properly. British restrictions on Jews entering Palestine to escape Nazi persecution was done to appease Egypt & Oil rich Saudi Arabia. This led to the agreement for The Haganah & the use of Terrorism to drive the British out.Loin Cloth Lenny wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 1:48 pmThey have not been living there centuries that is more bluster and fake information . Re: Israel
Disgusting. Similar incidents will more likely occur here as our authorities are too soft. This needs to be nipped in the bud if it does. Misinformation is fuelling this. Synagogues like mosques and other religious groups do good work throughout the year in the UK for communise as a whole, often not heard about or publicised enough, especially at Winter with food banks, ‘heated living spaces’ and food banks. We need to maintain social cohesion.

Re: Israel
You don't get to decide whether something has anything to do with solidarity with Palestinians, Owen. They're waving Palestinian flags.

The people who live in that region are mainly Muslim, might explain why if happened but if does not make it right

Not debating the point again here but he's consistent in believing that October 7th didn't happen in a vacuum and - while not comparing the two events - it's absolutely mad to not apply the same logic here.

He's right that the October 7th attacks didn't happen in a vacuum. And he's right to point out Israel's role in that (and the tacit support from its allies). However, he always leaves out or diminishes Iran's (and its proxies') role in the wider situation too. This presents an incomplete picture of the region's geopolitics which will never benefit the innocent civilian victims, but only the perpetrators on one side or the other.
