I’m a Somerset fan and I would have loved to have seen us crowned champions however, not under those circumstances would it have been fair. It’s almost as if the rain that fell made the result the right one, like when a player cheats to win a penalty and then misses, justice for cheating.

Should be a 5 day test match, can quite often last just 4 days, 3 days somewhat unusual, either a dodgy unprepared pitch or one or both sides really weak with their batting. Now a very low scoring test match that finishes in the 2 days where both sides had quite strong batting line-ups and strongly favours the bowlers from day one, is quite obviously a pitch that is nowhere up to test cricket standard and should be reported to the ICC. Joe Root had to be diplomatic about it all, that was so obvious for anyone to take in. Wont be surprised if the next wicket is a docile flat track, we shall see ! .

According to media reports most of the squad have had Delhi Belly since the last test, some worse than others.

Interesting to see Dan Lawrence batting at 7. Perhaps the thinking was about the first 6 batsmen making 300 and enabling Lawrence to not have pressure and get some runs. Well he got some good runs but as for the first 6 batsmen. Possibly in the side because of Delhi Belly but I wish him well.

Was pleased to see England trying to be a bit more aggressive, using their feet to get to to the pitch of the ball, but 205 is probably 100 short of a decent score, still we will see.

I think Dan Lawrence batting at 7 is more because the top 6 are struggling so much Lawrence played more of his natural game today which was good to see. The game will be about the spinners again so I get only playing two seamers disappointing that on a better pitch with7 batters we couldn’t at least muster 250.

Not been as exciting this test .

Lots of long periods without runs or wickets.

I like the short version of testing cricket

Well Tuffers, as I write this half way through play on day three England are 54-4 in their second innings 106 more needed to avoid an innings defeat, looking unlikely to stop an Indian win. England are good at being woefull

At least Dan Lawrence got 50 to follow-up his 46 in the first innings and prove that the selectors were wrong to drop him for the third test.

My old cricket coach at Ilford Cricket School, Bill Morris, would be spinning in his grave to see the terrible way most of our batsmen play spin. They seem to not realise this is a 5-day test match not a 20/20 match. Oh well c'est la vie.

Yes little to no application shown by some of the England batsman. Badly needed the Geoff Boycott and Ken Barrington type of grit and concentration to bat long innings under pressure.

Good to see Dan Lawrence getting some runs and playing well. The only trouble with batting down at number 7 is that you run out of partners which happened to him in both innings.

Interested to read that you went to Ilford Cricket School Eliot. I used to go there and remember Bill Morris and also a very youthful JK Lever bowling at me. You obviously grew up round there so whereabouts did you go to school/
