Maybe not. But it is heroic to fight for your country in a world war. Without people like him, you wouldn't be here to make crass comments like that.

I for one will morn him as a hero.
The bloke spent the war getting a sun tan in Burma. Hardly landed at Dunkirk
Watching a documentary on Sony Action Movies about the war in Burma and the part the14th Army and Chinese Army played. It looks tougher than Dunkirk.

Terrible, terrible war, incompetent leadership and having to listen to Vera Lynn live is enough to demoralise any soldier.

And tougher than Dunkirk according to you. Disgracful.

He taught the world that when the chips are down, when everything seems lost, you just keep on walking.

This is a surprise. Given the media storm around Captain Tom, I'm sure we can expect lots of coverage of this emerging story soon. Right?

Indeed they do. And not only are these consultants receiving more of old Tom's cash than actual charities, the firm that has really benefited just so happens to be the daughter's.

What's the point of having a cash cow charity if you can't milk it?

They're all the same. The whole industry is a scam.

Disgusting. I'm quite sure he wasn't in on the scam himself as he dragged himself around the garden, so they've taken advantage of a dotty old bloke - her OWN FATHER - to boot.

The tin shaking mobs are the worst and in a lot of instances they are hired help on an hourly/daily rate. The % of this that makes a difference to the chartable cause can be pitiful.

The funny thing is that she’s said on record that the walking around the garden thing was her idea. She and her husband run a PR company which was about to go to poo poo when the pandemic hit. So they came up with the idea and have milked it ever since.

And at the height of it all they took him off on a Sun-sponsored freebie to the Caribbean, with daughter and SiL in tow of course, he contracted pneumonia on the flight home, got Covid in hospital and died. Greedy f*cking parasite.

Heh - if she's so good at PR, how come everyone thinks she's a fanny? If this is the sort of scheme she's capable of coming up with, it's no wonder their firm was going tits up.

(and, of course, it goes without saying that fanny wasn't the word I used)

Couldn’t she have just asked for a PPE contract from Hancock instead of having to resort to all this unseemly thieving?
