Decent reasons no - the reasons you state I have read - the guy was a ex captain of premier clubs and captain of his country - he was not deaf dumb of blind and his name was not tommy - of course he can talk it seems more the case of Lofc ( Ling and the staff ) did not like what he was saying then why - a few weeks earlier he had secured an interview by talking and I assume meeting the interview brief

How was that achieved if the allegations had any substance

Sorry mate - Lofc admitted they mucked up what they did not reveal if fletcher was given an opportunity to hold on to the job he had secured through an interview process by a simple conversation with the DOF - that's more the straightforward a real position ain't it
You know it matters not a jot what you or I think. Travis and Teague have the final say they own the club, if they wanted Ling out he'd be long gone. It's just a shame that a thread celebrating a cracking signing for the club is diverted into yetanother chance by some to attack the DoF.
Everyone who's posted on this thread, has liked the signing of Cisse....I cant find anyone who has actually slagged off Ling, regarding the signing.
Read what I have written I haven't said anyone criticised Ling re Cisse, although some like yourself have avoided giving him any credit for getting the deal done. Look at the earlier posts that unjustly criticise Lings behaviour at a Q&A - thread was moved away from Cisse signing by people happy to throw mud at the DoF.

Really? You don’t think the fans have a right to question the appointment of a man that wasn’t in football coaching let alone management at the time? You don’t think the DoF shouldn’t be talking to the fans like they’re a piece of sh*t?
That wasnt the only Question asked & if your honest you will
Know that Nigel Travis was the 1st to answer that question .

Martin Ling then gave an answer ,
Which was then ignored by the person asking the question.

If you are having ago at Ling , then man up &
dig out the chairmen as well .
What the f*** are you blathering on about? I'm specifically talking about the way Martin Ling aggressively answered questions from the fans. Nigel had his neutral business head on and answered in a very beige way.
You must have watched a different Q&A type Interview to me
I saw some fans asking some Stupid Questions , that had no relevance to them other than to satisfy there own Nosie Nature.
Id be pretty frustrated if my time was wasted by irrelevant questions that had already been answered.

Already answered or not to people’s satisfaction? An open forum, people ask according to their perception. No place for rudeness or arrogance because questions may be a bit awkward or you feel you’ve already dodged them once.

Ling was pathetic and rude. Defensive. If he hadn’t f*cked up in the first place the Q and A wouldn’t have been needed. A bit of humility needed perhaps. He had plenty to be humble about.

I invite you to find where I have berated Ling for the sake of it. I have generally praised his role in our promotion and the tough start he faced. No issue with the DoF role in general and his appointment in particular. Heaped praise on him for the Cisse deal.

But we all need to accept there are some situations he is just crap at. The Q and A being one. His rudeness and arrogance shone through along with his know it all attitude. Compare him and Travis. Chalk and cheese. He very much is a behind the scenes man these days. Nothing wrong with that. Best keep him there.

Was it you who argued with him at the Q & A ?

If not then why do i need to find where you said anything ?

Its not all about you or me Doh

Didn't see it like that he and the board admitted in his words they "f*cked up" can't really say anymore that that can he.
In the QA they gave not one simple example that warranted a sacking of a person after 29days

Ooh yeah Ling did indicate in a post fletcher interview fletcher spent too long off the pitch and " training should be on the pitch"

Ooh well maybe in the premiership environment players might have a greater mental capacity to gather what a coach is explaining - maybe fletcher felt he needed a classroom to explain - who knows Ling never clarified precisely what his grip of fletcher was on that point or any point - all he gave was snippets of what he wanted to reveal to the paying public in a QA environment. - I was not wanting a Magnus M, a chair with a light and a Ph.D answer all I wanted was reasonable articulation - too much to exspect ain't it
It's been done to death elsewhere that Fletcher would not or could not communicate with staff and players and was insular, he would have been given a brief by the board but decided early on he wanted to move on quite a few senior players mid season, that's probably not a problem for a premier club but when you are in L2 and have to settle contracts and add new ones it nigh on impossible for a club on a limited budget.

They admitted it was their fault and they f*cked up, pretty straightforward really.
a big reason was him wanting Ling jnr out and Embleton out among others. Once that became clear Ling wanted him gone, that seems pretty clear. The fact ling has admitted not talking to Fletch or showing him where he was failing in respect to communication etc. Leads me to believe the people he wanted out led to his demise.

UpminsterO wrote: Sat Jul 18, 2020 11:18 pm Tuffers asks a forum boarder on here if that person was at the QA

Let ask tuff are you related or a friend of LIng / Ross - as you have religiously defended them on every single topic that any boarder raises - that has a hint they do not agree with your position and they do not like what has gone on with these two employees recently

On a summary overview of your posting -It really is quite amazing that all the other football clubs in every division even function without perfection as you describe Ling end Ross in terms of ability / effort / achievement /

Where would be be with two other people imagine if we had for some example

Fletcher (with the same coaching badges or more than Ross )retained and Peterborough DOF - chirpy ex Barnet manager - he was a very upbeat guy

With Danny Webb as fletcher assistant - a long serving employee that had actually played professional football

I assume that mix would of resulted in Lofc ending up in the Essex senior league in barking park

Off course not Lofc would of just recruited different players selected different players and I assume at the min performed at a reasonable level to retain old division four status

Ooh well back to the vodka

Up the orient
Reads like too much vodka has been consumed already.
