So: a simple summary for us simpletons?
For months Starmer and Reeves have drummed it into us minions that there will be a harsh price to pay for Tory failure NOW but untold riches would materialise just before the next election ...... Yet the link above suggests that the private equity parasites (who produce nothing but cash in from others borrowing dependency) remain largely untouched and wage increases for real people will result in price increases imposed on real people ..... so basically real people will be no better off.
But if we tax these people properly, they’ll just up and leave the country. Then what do we do?

I don't know about the distribution within the top 1% of earners but they pay 30% of the total UK tax income, so it is something the government have to be careful about.

Discussing things that really don't affect or bother you?
That's the point of a forum, Well I Never
Strange way of thinking.
Discussing things that affect your life isn't strange, Discussing things that don't & have no bearing whatsoever is.
As an example I've not seen you mention once Sickle cell anemia. Why because it doesn't affect you in any way shape or form.
The genocide in Israel will not either. Does that mean I can’t have an opinion. Stop now if I was you

f*** them. They should pay the same rates of income tax on their earnings as the rest of us.
If they want to leave Kensington for Paris, let them go. They can’t take the assets that they flip with them.

But we’re getting bogged down in income taxes again, when the real issue is around capital gains and wealth taxes.

Both of which are high enough. The tax the rich line is so outdated. If we could prevent half of our wealth being wasted it may help. There is enough tax revenue. It needs to be distributed in a more efficient way.

I knew this yesterday as had a passenger in the car who was on the phone lining up his Gilts guy to appear on R4 this morning to talk about "a storm in a teacup". Eariewigin' at its best.
He was also the guy who put me onto free compost at the Pottery Road recycling centre. This was after renewing my decking in the summer and building enormous raised beds with the old timber and wondering how on earth I was going to fill them economically.

Succinctly put but you forgot to mention their war on the poor.

You clearly have none of your own opinions so prefer to ridicule others. Grow up . I am just as entitled to my opinions as you are yours. I repeat. The genocide in Israel , the manufacture of arms , will have no impact on my life. I , not you , will decide what to post and have an opinion on .

Ok then, what is so breathtakingly stupid about saying these parasites - and that is what these PE bankers are - are firstly no loss to the country and secondly, that they can’t take the assets they flip with them?

Go do some research then work it out for yourself. If you still don’t get it there is nothing I can say that will change a thing. The comment is breathtakingly stupid.
