Is this another case of “they don’t know what’s best for them” snobbery?
A classic of the election genre seldom seen since 2019 and reached a high point in June 2016
No, its a case of pointing out stupidity
Do explain why it’s stupidity?
I’m assuming you know the couple’s back story to justify this claim?

I think the clip explains enough about their back story. Ill health and poor

That’s (according to you) their current situation not their back story
The Tories have been in power for 14 years so may well have done multiple things to benefit them within this time period
To judge them on their appearance and brand them stupid for voting Tory without knowing anything about them is quite lazy and prejudiced

To be fair, anyone who votes Tory is stupid.

They explain everything in the clip

They explain “everything” insofar as they highlight historical moments when they were thankful for the Tories from years ago.
Which makes judging them entirely based on a short clip of less than a minute and forming an opinion of their entire back story even more snobby and prejudiced

I believe dunnem is working on a theorem which can explain why people in such circumstances vote Tory.

This was obviously the intent of the original tweet from an institution that describes itself as “progressive” in the second word of its description
I see nothing progressive in watching a short clip of less than a minute of two people who are described as struggling and in ill health by the narrator and immeadiately thinking that it’s a great opportunity to ridicule them without knowing anything about them or their lives based on stereotyping alone.

Not everyone. It makes sense for the top couple of per cent economically.
