With reference to posts above, how did we come to sign Pigott?
Surely if us fans know he isnt league1 standard, surely those in charge of the club must know this
Why was he signed? Did RW ask for him? Did a scout recommend him? Did Pigotts agent ring up Ling and convince Ling he was the player for us?
How does this all work?

I think that’s a fair assessment, one of the few bright spots for me was how well Dan Agyei looked when he came on and even Forde to an extent. Comparing Agyei to the likes of Pigott or Moncur just shows how we need Dan to get match fitness ASAP so he can start games instead of either of the other two.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 5:44 pm Played well before they scored. Played decebt after their 2nd until that 3rd. Playing against a very good team with 10 men is always going to be hard.
Fair play to RW for bringing 2 forwards on to try and salvage something. No point losing 2-0 and not going for it.
A sense of perspective is needed. Some of those players were shocking though.
I thought that Pigott was particularly poor yesterday and I can’t quite work out what his position or role is meant to be.

You'd be hard pressed to say any have particularly impressedHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 1:18 pm Have the summer signings been good?
It does seem that it’s the remaining players from last seasons squad that are stepping up - most notably Brown, El Miz and Ruel - rather than any of the newbies.
Brynn - bang average (and that's being generous)
Howes - poor, looks NL standard where we got him from
Sanders - mostly M.I.A. have we signed a new Callum Reilly?
Galbraith - barely played so no idea
Pigott - very poor
Forde - better than 4th choice filler striker usually is but still raw
Cooper - started well but getting worse by the week, might not see him again in an Orient shirt
Agyei - potentially great, horrible injury, a lot riding on him staying fit
Graham - potentially great, horrible injury, long time until we see him again
So really the two bits of real quality we signed both ended up crocked and particularly in attack shows the gap between them and the rest.
Pigott appeared to be a panic signing after McKirdy fell through due to the issues found at medical. Doesn't seem to fit any particular system we play either really.

Graham was good and was getting better until he got injured . Agyei looks good from what I've seen of him so far and will get better with more match fitness . Galbraith and Sanders also look good from what I've seen so far ..Loan players have also been good with Sol Brynn being OK but nothing special . So far only Pigott has been proven to be a dud but the club can't get them all right . We've been unlucky with injuries otherwise there is more than enough talent in our squad to be OK this season . Our problem is our lack of goals is draining our confidence . Got to get our transfer business correct next month or we could be in trouble .Hoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 1:18 pm Have the summer signings been good?

I wonder if McKirdy could be back in the picture . I know he got injured up in Scotland but it was said at the time he could be back around Christmas time .gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 6:24 pmYou'd be hard pressed to say any have particularly impressedHoover Attack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 1:18 pm Have the summer signings been good?
