Trump is a gaffe machine, the difference being though that his comes from ignorance as opposed to Biden’s which appear to be driven by senility. The cognitive awareness of Trump compared to Biden is marked.

The Dems seriously need to get their act together

Is it really though? Like I said above, I don't see why Trump gets this kind of pass. He's a rambling old c*nt too, just looks slightly less doddery.

There’s a difference between being an old rambling ignorant gobshite and someone who forgets where he is, world leaders names or when your son died though

Why oh why don't the Democrats tell him to stand aside?

I think they will ask him to step aside (or he and his wife will figure it out for themselves), especially if over the coming months the gap between Biden and Trump in the polls increases in Trump's favour. They are just waiting for the right time to do it, the Democratic Convention in August is the key date. It's not actually that easy to make him go if he doesn't want to.

Interestingly, the bookies favourite to replace Biden is Michelle Obama, even though she hasn't said she wants to run. It's probably more than just a rumour.

Isn't it a bit late if the election is November?

The Democrats select their candidates for President and Vice President over the coming months, then all vote for who they want to go forward in November at their convention in August (as I understand it).

But Trump regularly gets places and people's names wrong, when he was President he was renowned for it. Why is that not a sign of cognitive decline? Doesn't seem like this scrutiny is applied consistently.

It was reported by the BBC, that " them what Count " ( IE - The Govt or who may form the next Govt), prefer Biden to Trump.

It is not a great choice. Supposed to be the bastion of the democratic world. At least Biden has tried to redress some of the ills of the country, one giant ego trip for Trump. I would like to think a Trump figure would not get a free ride in the UK…

It is, I just don’t think he’s got to the stage where he forgets how to walk off stage or the years he was in office or when his son died yet

Heh. It's hard not to find it funny as Emily Maitlis gets told to "f*ck off" by Trump's potential VP, Marjorie Taylor Greene.

The Democrats appear to be losing part of their core base, and Trump could win off the back of them.
