She has her reasons...... If she allows Corbyn too"steal her thunder" by coming over as the no deal champion, it will hurt her credentials in the forthcoming election, and she knows no party will win a majority in an election, so she can do a"Clegg" and become deputy leader in a co illition.

How many more times, they are all politicians. They will do and say whatever they think will get them higher up the greasy poll at that moment in time and conveniently forget it again five minutes later.

Whilst I completely agree I think it's a stretch to make that accusation of Corbyn. Not that you did. If all he is interested in was climbing the greasy pole then he's certainly picked the scenic route. Plus he really didn't want the job in the first place. The likes of McDonnell and Abbott pushed him into it because they'd both already contested the leadership.

He is an odd case I will admit, but he is now being driven by other poll climbers who see him as a way of gaining power at which point he will be retired giving one of them the top job.

I actually get the Lib Dem argument that if they are the are the largest party they have a right to revoke Article 50 as people will have voted for them to do so. You have to get past the laughable idea that they will be the largest party first though.

I know it’s only natural to think negatively on this, but isn’t there the same chance they will turn some swing seats red?

Though I’d very much like to, you can’t forget the LibDems.

Interesting that one of their leadership contenders is pushing for them to move on from the Orange Book stuff and shift back to Centre Left. If Starmer nudges Labour rightwards too and ditches the 10 pledges he made after becoming leader, the space there might be a little congested unless the parties agree to lay off each other under the FPTP system.

I'm not sure if that's a particularly uncommon belief, and aspects are true (but it needs to be remembered that 'centre left' and 'centre right' are movable and change by the decade, so it's unwise to camp there), but it's not a great space to get things done. You said on another topic about your career as an IT professional. Would you rather be an MD for 9 years, not particularly successful, not particularly unsuccessful and you leave the company vaguely the same as when you joined without much progress or would you rather 4 years as MD, but you make genuine leaps towards what you define as success. 9 years of being a boss, or 4 years of being a good boss?

I personally thought the collation was a good thing for the country. Sure it could have been better, but the excess of either side was curtailed by the other party, what we did get was a progression forwards in my opinion.

The current Lib Dem’s ain’t worth a zzzz right now.

Austerity and huge cuts to public services seems a strange progression forward?
