Piers Morgan questioning Matt Hancock on the morning show, on why 15,000 people are arriving per day from China, U.S ( New York) Spain etc when we are supposed to be on lockdown & He has no answer ..
Shocking state of affairs.
Perhaps they've come here to get a free 'Hancock Badge'.

Childish remark above.

I don't have enough time available to write down all of the cock-ups of the Tory Government(s); particularly since 2010.
Nor can I express, via the written word, my utter contempt for them.
No apology that my contributions have focussed primarily upon the NHS; I happen to think it's the most important aspect of our Society; particularly during these times.
Don't you?

Lest we forget that as far back as 2008, Helen Whately was working for the healthcare department of McKinsey; the powerful US management consultancy driving the race to replace the NHS with a private, American-style health system.
Her own department proposed the £20 billion cuts in the NHS budget that slashed 137,000 jobs and is still devastating public health today.

BBC report:
Concerns have been raised that updated government guidance on personal protective equipment (PPE) could put hospital staff and patients at risk.
Healthcare workers have been advised to reuse gowns or wear different kit, such as plastic aprons with coveralls, if stocks in England run low.
Unions representing doctors and nurses have expressed concerns about the updated Public Health England guidance.
The government said it is working to provide the PPE stocks hospitals need.
There have been warnings some hospitals could run out of the gowns used in intensive care units this weekend.
Healthcare staff treating patients with Covid-19 have previously been advised to wear long-sleeved disposable fluid-repellent gowns.
It is now very clear; the lives of ordinary people do not matter.
Can these Tories get any more despicable?

Dis whilst I would concur that the government could have moved quicker and secured more stocks earlier, you do realise the whole world wants the same product at the same time and on a scale never seen before?
Is it acceptable? No, but global stocks are low and availability is in short supply. Should they be doing everything they can to get more? Of course. Would you be happy for the government to overpay like the Americans are to secure stocks? Knowing that another person somewhere else in the world could catch it due to their ppe have been taken by the uk?

The government has f*cked up big time, there's no doubt. The PPE, or lack of, has been a National scandal.
Its time for Hancock to resign, and see if someone else can do a better job

It’s not even just lack of purchasing.
They could have instructed all manufacturing companies to get onto it. We’re hearing of companies offering to help but getting no response.
It doesn’t even come down to ideology anymore. It’s just total incompetence, they’re a clueless bunch of chancers from top to bottom.

That's the bit I don't get redo, companies, our own companies offering xyz and not even getting an answer. It's not like the government does not want or need their services or can't afford to buy what they offer at whatever price they want to charge either.
Some serious questions need to be asked when this is over.

It is ideology. The Tories don't claim to have an ideology. They don't have to in normal circumstances ever day life is caplitalism and for enough people it works from day to day.
These aren't normal circumstances. They have made ideological decisions to let the virus kill people. No English/Scottish socialist would ever make that decision.
Their incompetence flows from that - Who makes ventilators? I don't know but direct the people and resources to those who can. Not the start up failures at Dyson and other "Pandemic Entreprenuers". Resources wasted but I bet they still get paid millions.

I think a lot of this comes down to the Civil Service. Not for one minute criticising them personally, they must be working all hours, but they have been left in a position where they obviously can't cope. Efficiency Savings, ie Cuts, have reduced there numbers over the last decade added to which many thousands have been sent of to play with Brexit, the Ministry of Health would had their share of these loses.
Logistics on a large scale take a lot of people to get it coordinated properly. This is not helped by politicians seemingly changing policy on a daily basis and suddenly realising that they should have done something last week.
