It's a bit simplistic. Not all of the olds are like that.

There may be an element of generational politics going on but its not the key to unlocking greater understanding of the situation in Russia.
I agree, but I still think it's an interesting perspective. Ethnic Russian reproductive rates have been dire for decades, and the issue has been compounded by the 90s brain drain and terrible public health. Looking at most population projections over the next few decades, they are facing an existential crisis.

Indeed and it's not going to help having the youth whittled down fighting wars of aggression either.

Mind you just as the Ukrainians are proxies for Nato I note that the Russkies are using Syrians, Chechens etc quite a bit.

Anyway must dash. Nurse needs to change my toe dressing.

I must have missed it but when did we threaten to fire a nuke at Russia. All the nuclear threats are coming from Russia. Indeed they can destroy us but it would be the last thing Russia ever did. Nobody wins in a nuclear war so somebody should tell that Idiot Russia news presenter that if Russia pushes the button it’s over for everybody, not just the UK

Absolutely. That’s the standard practice in Russia.

Bombing busy shopping centres now, blatantly going for civilian targets.

Zelensky is right when saying that Russia won't stop with Ukraine and Putin really is not bothered about such niceties as rules of warfare.
Is there anything that could stop Putin?
Frequent speculations that he is terminally ill, but if so, it makes him more dangerous (having 'nothing to lose' and wanting to 'go out in glory').

I suspect the Russians were targeting nearby warehouses which may or may not have been acting as a munitions store. But their artillery and rocket fire is notoriously inaccurate, and they’re way past caring about any collateral casualties.

Of course Zelensky is right. This was never just about Ukraine or NATO expansion. Those were just words. Russia wants to expand into territories that contains a total population greater than what is in Russia itself. There's simply no way I can see this ending without major destruction and loss of life.

As for stopping Putin, I think that we are fast approaching a realisation that Russian aggression will just have to be met with counter aggression. They're not interested in negotiations, and it's just not on to expect a greater population of neighbouring countries to acquiesce to them.

Military chiefs in all allied countries are all now delivering a consistent message. Defence spending as a percentage of GDP will have to increase, and armed forces need to reconcile with the probability that they will soon be engaging in conflict with Russian forces. NATO is already at war. It's just that we haven't got to the bit where the real shooting starts yet.

A Capitalist World that is Skint means the greatest money machine is called into action . Every elite knows this , line the young up as fodder until economies are healthy again . War is upon us all .

The missile that hit the shopping mall dates back to the early 1960’s, they’re huge and were designed to take out ships, especially aircraft carriers and NOT land targets. The AS-4 is notoriously inaccurate.

What on Earth were the Russians thinking of using anti ship missiles against land targets? Guess they have a Big Bang or are running out of more modern weapons.

You’re all laughing but if anyone has seen Uri bend spoons live on tv with his Mind Power, you’d know what he’s capable of.

And that’s bending a spoon. With his Mind Power. So long as he is holding the spoon.
