Walter is batting too high IMHO. Rossington should be playing club cricket simple as, Overweight and not made any effort to get fit in his two and a half seasons to date, he's not fit enough to bat more than half an hour as he can't run its embarrassing. Where's Kushi?
Rumour has it Kushi was asked to bat in a more conservative fashion in the CC but has failed to heed those orders and when asked to tone it down and build an innings, he responded that he won’t get any Twenty20 contracts batting like that. His dad is his agent and he’s been pushing him to take the Twenty20 route and ignore orders. Apparent didn’t go down well with the powers that be and this is apparently the reason for his disappearance.
Cheers Horient, that would explain a lot.
Not a problem. Has now been loaned to Kent for his sins!

Nightmare at the Oval this morning Essex replying to Surreys 262 are 45 for 3 but only tells half the story, Jordan Cox out of the game after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix overnight, Jamie Porter pulled up injured this morning and Tall Paul did not field today because of a toe injury.

The toe again? Elgar wafting again, Browne and Westley can't get going. Bring on the rain!

Lose this game and it's Surrey's title.

Essex 124 behind , Surrey have 7 wickets remaining, Essex can win this 🤔

Take those 7 wickets for another 60 runs or so and the win is really on.

Oh dear Surrey beat us. All credit to their bowlers but some terrible batting and dismissals from Essex. All went away from us when Patel scored that hundred in the 2nd innings, and we lost 2 early wickets - and Cox.

We need to win the reverse fixture

Looking back at this match, Surrey took only 18 wickets as with Cox hospitalised by appendicitis, he couldn't bat. If he had been able to bat, maybe we could have hung on for the draw. Looking at this situation, Essex have been (IMO) affected through no fault of their own - how could they have known Cox would need his appendix out. If he had been concussed on the field, Essex could have called up a player to bat in his place.
ECB need to look at the substitutes rule and allow one is such cases as Cox's.

Dan Sams out of the rest of the T20 due to injury and is returning to Oz. That is a blow. If ECB/T20 rules allow and he's available, I wonder if they will try and sign Bosch as a replacement.

Looking at the weather forecast I don't think they'll get a full 40 overs in tonight at Chelmsford. Probably a truncated match of 5-10 overs a side or no play at all. I'd prefer the latter then I can get my ticket money back.

John Stephenson leaving. Not a surprise with all the c*** he has had to put up with in the last two years, of which none was of his making.

That will be a loss.

Season 3 is about to start, so he will probably be busy solving crimes in Los Angeles.

Tough choice - watch the O's or Essex at Hove. Glad I chose Essex - chasing 208 and getting them 5 down with 1.5 overs to spare and Pepper 120 no in a partnership of 121 with Charlie Allison. A win tomorrow ensures the quarter finals. Well done Eagles!!!

This

Two T20 tons this season, already.

At an Essex Cricket Society meeting the winter before last Goochie said he rated him highly. Now the boy is coming good. I say boy, but he's 26. :!:

Hampshire are doing one on us tonight, so far. That'll be the T20 Q/F's gone. :(
