Part of the misogynist wing of the party who can't bring themselves to vote for a woman, when it's obvious the one with the double barrelled name who used to work for the city law firm that specialises in privatisation, is the best candidate.
When is the 'election after next' then?Digby Chicken Caesar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:17 pm Labour aren't going to win until the election after next thanks to Corbyn

Nope makes sense, it will take labour at least two elections to try and reduce the Tory lead, however with the options they have for leader that still ain't gonna, Maybe the labour guy in Manchester, can't remember his name, was involved in the Hillsborough disputeNuneatonO's wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:01 amWhen is the 'election after next' then?Digby Chicken Caesar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:17 pm Labour aren't going to win until the election after next thanks to Corbyn

Forget the date and Month......just give me the actual year (with substantiated proof please)?
If you can't, then basically, you are simply talking out of your rear end, aren't you dear chap.
Erm, subject to the FTP Act, the election after next is scheduled for 2029. As no party has ever overturned a defeat of the magnitude suffered by Labour within one election cycle before, DCC's prediction above is pretty realistic.NuneatonO's wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:01 amWhen is the 'election after next' then?Digby Chicken Caesar wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:17 pm Labour aren't going to win until the election after next thanks to Corbyn

If Starmer wins I'm joining to oppose him.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 9:03 amDisoriented wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 8:04 am The only good thing to come out of this disaster will hopefully be the final nail in the coffin of the Marxist dream. Be interesting to see what happens to the party membership if Sir Kier does get it.
I thought the Fixed Term Parliament Act was dumped as soon as Boris was electedDunners wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 6:07 amErm, subject to the FTP Act, the election after next is scheduled for 2029. I'm no lawyer nor even am I a legal assistant nor a paralegal but I suspect the law is a bit more complicated than a fat blonde w*nker deciding to ignore it.point nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:48 amI thought the Fixed Term Parliament Act was dumped as soon as Boris was electedDunners wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 6:07 amErm, subject to the FTP Act, the election after next is scheduled for 2029. As I mentioned above I'm no Petrocelli when it comes to the law but the above opinion feels right to me so my gut reaction is to go for it. Should facts emerge in the future to contradict my feelings I will steadfastly ignore them and continue to agree with Dunners.Dunners wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 12:28 pmThat's not my understanding (*paging spen).point nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 11:48 amI thought the Fixed Term Parliament Act was dumped as soon as Boris was elected
My understanding is that it remains in place, however parliament can easily get around it by achieving a 51% vote on a motion for an election so long as it's subject to the proviso; "Notwithstanding the FTA etc..." That's what happened last time.
The way you use the words "The Marxists" makes me sick. You use it like theyre lepers. Because it isnt your cup of tea, dont be rude
There was a Fixed Term Parliament Act 2011 (Repeal) Bill (HL)2019, that had it's first reading in the House of lords 28 Oct 2019 then the election sort of got in the way, Boris is going through Parliament changing all those lords decision that were put in the way of the House of Commons before the election, eventually the FTPA will be dealt withMax B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 12:48 pmAs I mentioned above I'm no Petrocelli when it comes to the law but the above opinion feels right to me so my gut reaction is to go for it. Eh? They are called Marxists for a reason as they follow the views of Karl Marx. How is that rude?ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 6:04 pmThe way you use the words "The Marxists" makes me sick.
