Such generosity.
Indeed, so basically she's saying "here's an opportunity for you to put your life at risk for us, we'll be very grateful, but we'll still kick you out in 12 months time" - enjoy.
Disgusting.

Sums up our country perfectly.
Isn't she sweet. Any PM worth their salt would have got rid of her along time ago.

I think he is working on the basis that, as she is a potential leadership candidate, he is going to put her in a job that he knows she will make one cock-up after another and pee off enough people to become unelectable.

Not at all. After her 'resignation' after those dodgy meeting with Israeli officials and all the lying around that, she was consigned to the scrapheap. Boris wanted her back on board as a trusted ally. They're cut from the same cloth.

Who would have thought Rees-Mogg would have wanted to prosper financially, thanks to Coronavirus:

A truly sickening, godforesaken individual that sadly epitomises the Tory Elite!

No doubt the Tory-loving 'Moral Vacuums' on here will see nothing wrong with this.

Yet again, the utter fool Hancock, hasn't got the first idea of what he's talking about (source: BBC within the past hour);

Hancock appears to contradict himself again over ventilator figures
During the press conference, health secretary Matt Hancock said he could not provide an exact figure on how many more ventilators the NHS could have in place over the next week.

But this morning he told Andrew Marr that “there should be another 1,500” in a week’s time.

He told the Downing St briefing:

The production from domestic manufacturers is starting to come on stream. The key goal is to always keep the amount of critical care beds - which nearly all need ventilators - above the demand.

We haven’t got an exact figure for how many we will deliver next week not least because when we bring them in from abroad there are risks to the timing.

Speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, he said:

We need to make sure we have more ventilators than there are people who need ventilation. At the moment we have between 9,000 and 10,000 ventilators within the NHS right now and we have the 2,000 spare that are critical care beds with ventilator capacity should people need to come into them and we’re ramping that up. The answer is that our goal, instead of the 30,000, is that we need 18,000 ventilators over the coming two weeks.”

Asked how many there will be in a week’s time, he said: “There should be another 1,500.”

The government had already appeared to revise down its 30,000 target for ventilators.

Seriously, what planet is this imbecile living on?

Can you just imagine the furore amongst the tory-loving, gammon Daily Fail and S*n readers if it was Diane Abbott making these embarrassing gaffs?

Sheer incompetence, YET AGAIN, from the idiots within the Tory Party.

Get in there Starmer.......and show these pathetic :clown :clown :clown :clown up for what they truly are!

Let’s hope that the cross party help which is I beleive going to start this coming week will provide some positive results and is not merely a tick box exercise.

Why is this gobshite still being asked for his opinion?

Good to see his priorities haven't changed - “Unless you are able to get mass testing at scale, with speed, I don’t see how you can get a way out of this lockdown and I am terrified by the economic damage we are doing with every week this lockdown continues. This damage is enormous … If it goes on for a long time then it doesn’t just affect the economy per se, it also affects the ability to operate your healthcare service effectively.”

What about the people that are dying horrible deaths in isolation, Tony? Doesn't that terrify you as well? silly sausage.

So whats happened to Priti? Strange that someone in her position isn't at the forefront of the government in this crisis!

I might write to her asking where the f*** she is and if she'd mind staying there.

Just as before the election the Tories know that her and Rees Mogg are absolute liabilities and are best hidden away from public view, Alok Sharma is probably on the list too after last week.

Still, we must all pull together and back the government in these times and not question why there are cabinet members that everyone realises aren't competent.

Unfortunately, this crisis has made what was obvious to most non-thick people;

that A LOT of the ministers in the cabinet are incompetent. Like any job, you can get by with BS for years, but when things really ramp up it's very hard to hide. I think this will be the breaking of many of their careers, thank God. Unfortunately, it will come at the cost of other peoples lives.

Also, still can't help but chuckle at the 100,000 tests a day Hand cock promised last week. 16,000 yesterday were conducted, for context.

Will be another 'we did what we could but, but, but' statement at the end of April with loads of people claiming 'it isn't the time to question the government'.

Any ideas when we'll hit 250,000 tests per day?

Amazing really. And more amazing that people forget stuff like that. Huge claims that they know they can make without much hope of reaching, but also knowing that no one will really hold them to account once they fail. Scary.

I keep hoping that the government will appoint a "fixer" to head the campaign for testing and the overall drive to fight this virus. Someone who, almost by sheer strength of will, drive and gravitas, can make things happen. Someone who's not interested in explaining why "this is difficult" but just remains 100% focused on getting us through this with minimal loss of life. We need people to have the scientific/medical knowledge but these aren't likely to be the best people to implement and drive the project - because it is a project - through to completion. If you watched the brilliant series Chernobyl, someone like Boris Shcherbina would fit the bill.

Think Hancock’s been one of the better performers, tbf. Gawd help us if we’re stuck with the likes of Raab, Gove & Patel calling the shots.
