Lamont Dozier - of Motown songwriting trio Holland, Dozier & Holland. So many hits did they write and so much good music to dance to (when I could still dance). Motown, the best record label ever IMO.

Author and illustrator Raymond Briggs, who is best known for the 1978 classic The Snowman, has died aged 88.

My particular favourites - Ethel & Ernest, When The Wind Blows, and Fungus the Bogeyman.

Tom Weiskopf, former Open Champion, and subsequently an acclaimed Golf Course designer, dies at 79.

I recall his open win at Troon in '73. R.I.P. Tom.

The world became a better place thanks to Gorbachev, and from what I’ve learned from obituaries he was dismayed by what had gone on in Russia in recent years and feared the chance of nuclear conflict had increased as a result. R.I.P.
