That said if this issue leads to a collapse in the UK cost of oysters, langoustine and scollops then brexit will have been worth it.

You can sell food into the EU, but you can't export them in water or soil for example as this wasn't negotiated, so no export of shellfish or plants. That kind of story is getting reported across endless small industries and does add up to quite a lot of businesses looking at collapsing.

Brexit: 71 pages of paperwork for 1 lorry of fish

71 Pages for 1 lorry ?

Itll be the Easiest deal in History .
😂🤣
According to the story linked "Mr Samways is considering recruiting a new employee to tackle the extra forms, which take until 13:00 to complete. That would cost the firm £30,000-£40,000 per year."

At least someone who would otherwise have been on the dole sees a benefit, and seems like a good salary, even generous seeing as it's just form filling and possibly part time.

Every cloud...
Does the Article state that the buisness was making that much money it could afford
To pay £30-40 k per year for a full or part timer ?

No 9f course it doesnt .

Hardly likely to say he's going to take someone on and put his whole business under.

Having met Peter Cowgill and been in meetings with him I’m surprised it’s taken him this long to put that in place. Most businesses within that sector will have already opened warehouses on mainland Europe so as to allow their business to trade without too many issues. It’s a sensible move for his business.

I'm as surprised as you. Pete is normally on top of situations like this. Do you think he's losing it?

No not at all, just surprised that he had not already had an operation up and running before now. His business acumen is top class, look at JD and it’s net worth, it’s far in excess of the company that owns it! He has been a massive success story and many a businessman could learn a thing or two from him.

That may be so but if he's only now realised the issue and is running to stand still he's clearly behind the curve. I'm calling it. He's lost it.
