Not sure anyone is really getting too excited, just wondering if some credit might be due. Equally with your post I'd agree getting over the line is easier when they have been on loan but Ling and Embleton brought him here on loan too. They've done well in this scenario, no disgrace in admitting it.
Let's have it right. We have been crying out for a midfielder of his ilk for a long time, it took Ling until January to sort that out. Now somehow (against all the odds) we've managed to sign him on a permanent deal. He's given contracts to people who don't deserve them. He bollocksed up the manager's job last season. He left the squad completely unbalanced at the start of last season.
He's argued with and belittled fans in a Q&A.
Forgive me for not being completely enamoured by this monumental achievement. Like I said, let's wait until the end of the window and see what state the club is in. A new starting quality CB and RB are an absolute must now.
Ask stupid questions, get belittling answers

There are so many negative moaners on here. If we went up via the playoffs next season they would be complaining that had we got rid of Embleton and Ling,we would have gone up automatically. They are sad, pathetic people.

I cant see a single post thats moaning about signing Cisse.

Those fans had been banging on about the same things on the
Orient twitter page slagging the guy for months.
Some of them deserve to be belittled & argued with .
Stupid question after the same stupid question. .
Really? You don’t think the fans have a right to question the appointment of a man that wasn’t in football coaching let alone management at the time? You don’t think the DoF shouldn’t be talking to the fans like they’re a piece of sh*t?

That wasnt the only Question asked & if your honest you will
Know that Nigel Travis was the 1st to answer that question .
Martin Ling then gave an answer ,
Which was then ignored by the person asking the question.
If you are having ago at Ling , then man up &

Plenty not willing to give credit to Ling and Embleton for his signing. Yes I know the truth hurts.

Useful in an emergency but it would leave a gap in midfield. Also we have gotta hope to stays injury-free

Don't even joke about it! Still in pleasant shock at signing a solid CM. Now where's that cotton wool we need to wrap him up in until start of the season...

What the f*** are you blathering on about? I'm specifically talking about the way Martin Ling aggressively answered questions from the fans. Nigel had his neutral business head on and answered in a very beige way.

Don't see that as aggressive at all,no more than you swearing at Tuffers in your post.seems a bit odd you calling Ling out when you come over as being really aggressive and not willing to debate without insulting people.
Lingy answered the question openly and honestly it may not have been what some people wanted to hear but his swearing wasn't addressed at an audience member. Tbf if you have worked in football for any period of time the language around any club is "industrial". He spoke sense and with passion I don't recall anyone at that meeting being offended but as we know from some people on this board expection can completely outweigh what is and isn't possible.
We are far from having the biggest playing budget in a league two and I think being able to bring in a player of Cisse's quality is a coup for the club.

From the clip i watched there was nothing offensive in what Martin Ling said, the swear words were not directed at anyone personally. You could see the frustrations he has with certain messages on this board and he tried to answer those with his opinions on experience and salaries of certain people in coaching and management.

Didn't see it like that he and the board admitted in his words they "f*cked up" can't really say anymore that that can he.
In the QA they gave not one simple example that warranted a sacking of a person after 29days
Ooh yeah Ling did indicate in a post fletcher interview fletcher spent too long off the pitch and " training should be on the pitch"
Ooh well maybe in the premiership environment players might have a greater mental capacity to gather what a coach is explaining - maybe fletcher felt he needed a classroom to explain - who knows Ling never clarified precisely what his grip of fletcher was on that point or any point - all he gave was snippets of what he wanted to reveal to the paying public in a QA environment. - I was not wanting a Magnus M, a chair with a light and a Ph.D answer all I wanted was reasonable articulation - too much to exspect ain't it
It's been done to death elsewhere that Fletcher would not or could not communicate with staff and players and was insular, he would have been given a brief by the board but decided early on he wanted to move on quite a few senior players mid season, that's probably not a problem for a premier club but when you are in L2 and have to settle contracts and add new ones it nigh on impossible for a club on a limited budget.
They admitted it was their fault and they f*cked up, pretty straightforward really.

Straight forward yep
Decent reasons no - the reasons you state I have read - the guy was a ex captain of premier clubs and captain of his country - he was not deaf dumb of blind and his name was not tommy - of course he can talk it seems more the case of Lofc ( Ling and the staff ) did not like what he was saying then why - a few weeks earlier he had secured an interview by talking and I assume meeting the interview brief
How was that achieved if the allegations had any substance
Sorry mate - Lofc admitted they mucked up what they did not reveal if fletcher was given an opportunity to hold on to the job he had secured through an interview process by a simple conversation with the DOF - that's more the straightforward a real position ain't it
You know it matters not a jot what you or I think. Travis and Teague have the final say they own the club, if they wanted Ling out he'd be long gone. It's just a shame that a thread celebrating a cracking signing for the club is diverted into yet another chance by some to attack the DoF.
