Either way, is Ling the ‘experienced number 2’ Ross now has? He should be nowhere near the dressing room during or immediately after the game. Shades of Bullshitti.
It's been building for a long time apparently. This incident caused his sacking only insofar as the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand caused World War I. The underlying conditions have been set down for a while through the tensions between the Lingite camp and... those who can see the damage that's being done through the gradual flushing out of competent people in favour of those who won't question, and owe their position directly and entirely to the patronage of Mr Ling. Yes, he really does need to read Nigel's book.

Danny loves attacking football so maybe his outburst was about the endless negative football and continual doubting ourselves . Maybe he wasn’t diplomatic. Real shame as i think Danny was a real Asset and will make a good manager

Danny has integrity and as noted, competency, and that seems at odds with the old boy’s club. The signs are there, just like our last dof. We will look back on this year and shake our heads at what’s happening to our club.

You're not a million miles away from it. He is the more accomplished and qualified coach. And - on this occasion - wasn't impressed to see how chuffed Embleton was by us poncing a late equaliser after what was - by and large - a gormless performance.

The players are probably relieved that this source of dressing room tension has been removed, but is that short-term uplift worth losing one of the people who thinks we should be doing better with the talent we currently have in our squad? Or are we all happy to settle into a nice comfortable and dreary "well at least we have a club, so we should be grateful for a few seasons bumbling around at the foot of League Two even though we have a top 8 budget and top 3 crowds" routine? Because I bet Kent Teague isn't.

So it's only a matter of time. It's simply a question of how many good people we lose between now and the inevitable.

Ling reported all this to Kent & he sacked him there & then, so sounds like he will be doing some gardening but not on the clubs terms.
If that's what happened then it makes me think that ML isn't quite as sweet and cuddly as some might think. He must have known that taking this upstairs to Kent would only have one outcome.
Lingy should have the power and the balls to make that call on his own.

If this is true, Webb is bang out of order.
Ling won't have the authority to sack a member of the coaching staff on his own, so he'd have to report it to T&T. For all we know, Ling may have suggested to them that sacking Webb was the best solution, and they went with it.

Ling clearly has a ruthless streak about him BoniO, as manager he got rid of certain players very quickly who he thought were bad for dressing room morale or weren't performing. This shouldn't come as a shock to people.
ComeOnYouOs wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 3:54 pmOne things for certain...we ( the fans) will never get to know what happened ( if anything), as the club are not as forthcoming, as some fans think they are.

Rumour and counter rumour, is the best we're going to get guys
If you actually think fans have a right to know the specific details of an internal dispute within an organisation, you're an even bigger idiot than I first thought.

Don't really see it that way. Ling has admitted to the fans he sees Embleton as ahead of Webb as a manager currently - no idea what level of qualification Webb is on atm either but given Ross has been coaching since 16, I'd be surprised if Webb was the more qualified of the two. Not that a UEFA A Licence coach is guaranteed to be a better manager than someone with a UEFA B Licence anyway.

Ross's reaction to us grabbing a late equaliser is similar to how any manager would have reacted to their team equalising in stoppage time after being behind.

Ling has probably judged it as Webb trying to undermine Ross and this was creating a negative atmosphere amongst the coaching staff and the players, and acted decisively.

Did he have integrity when he fed us that bullshit about Cisak?

You’re also mistaking competency for having a famous dad.

Of course he shouldn’t be in there. Nor should any of the directors. Ross should be running that room, anyone above him coming into that area causes problems.

Webb clearly honks he should have the job, he’s thought it since 2017, so it was only a matter of time before this happened.

Good luck DW, longterm it's much better to get away from this shitshow. Yes, it was great to get a win at the weekend against a weakened Newport side but it's only a matter of time before a few others get their marching orders

It looks ominous, but I hope he hasn't gone. Always thought he cut a dignified figure on the touchline; must take some credit for the clutch of good prospects the club have helped develop in the past six years or so. I think it is beholden on the club to make a statement to avoid rumour-mongering.
