Just noticed this thread. Lived there while working there for a few years. Lovely people but under the veneer especially in officialdom they don’t like Brits that much. As for the police, I’ll say no more.

Redo, I don’t know what you are inferring when you say that you have just twigged why “I am defending these rapists”.
For gods sake , can’t you understand they have been accused of rape, then had the accusation detracted, never charged, so at this moment in time THEY ARE NOT RAPISTS.
Tony Blair has never been charged with war crimes, he’s still a war criminal.
Here’s a link to an article you can probably understand. Read this to see what a travesty of justice this whole case has been from start to finish.

There are lots of reports on this miscarriage of justice in other media outlets; I just thought this one best suited.

Red o, who are you to claim it’s a miscarriage of justice, as I said please enlighten us with your privileged insider knowledge.
Either put up or shut up.

Don’t let the rape apologists get to you RedO.
There is a mass of evidence to show that the lady retracted her allegations under duress. Hence her ‘conviction’ in this case is reason enough for some (including myself) to state that they would boycott visiting Cyprus. I hope that thousands of others will follow suit and chose to visit more safer resorts, and perhaps help to save some other miscarriages of justice.

So, I guess neither you or the sun newspaper have access to the actual interview notes, or the evidence given by those accused of rape. The prosecutors did however. When you hear half the story you get a quarter of the truth.

For someone who bleats in about hearing the whole story etc etc you are very dismissive about the actual facts that are known. Yet you are guilty of the same ignorance that you keep trying to pin onto others.
It is clear that you have absolutely no empathy for the plight of this girl.

The prosecutors didn’t have any evidence from the rapists. The young lady was forced to withdraw her accusations, so it didn’t get that far. The judge wasnt interested in the rape. The only bit of evidence he did refer to was the video of her having consensual sex with the 1 guy she went home with, which included her shouting and screaming as the gang tried to break into the room. Apparently the judge shares your antiquated, misogynistic, c*nty views that as she went back with 1 guy, she was up for it.

His empathy is with the pack of Israeli lads and the ordeal they’ve been through. He’s disgusting.

Wrong, I have no empathy for either the accused or the accuser, the truth is that I don’t give a sh*t about any of them, I have more important things going on in my life. I am merely pointing out how childishly absurd it is for anyone to suggest boycotting a country over a case which they have no privileged knowledge , and in the wider scheme of things has been blown out of all proportions.

It surprises me how ignorant some readers and writers on this Board are. Perhaps they ought to travel a bit more. They certainly don't seem to be aware of how misogynistic Society can be in Eastern Mediterranean countries. I give an example: my Cypriot friend at work described his typical Christmas, family would come round, females would see to the meal, the men played cards, then dinner, after dinner the women cleared up, the men played cards etc etc. He had a British girlfriend at work ( my wife's best friend ), she was a sexual plaything, when he married it was to a Cypriot Virgin. He despised women who gave their favours. This is an attitude I have seen time and time again. Israels although of a different Religion have the same mores. They really don't understand British women. I would advise any British women holidaying without males in Southern Countries to exercise extreme caution. I would advise any family not to go alone.
Lol, in a thread laced with stupidity and hypocrisy, this is probably my favourite post. Because your Cypriot mate at work still lives in the 1800s all Mediterranean countries are death traps for females. Thanks for the heads up

What about the plight of the however many blokes? Forever be on a sex register, no job prospects, disowned by family members etc etc just because one little slapper makes up a fairy story. And yes, it was proven in a court of law that she was lying therefore she was prepared to see many lives ruined to save her reputation (or just for the bantz).

I know it’s been written so provocatively so as to get a response but that is the single most offensive thing I’ve ever read on here.

Key question: how many blokes would willingly get on board in a sexual situation in a gang where filming is taking place? If you are one of those people, I would not consider that the word "plight" is necessarily appropriate to you. Perhaps they deserve what they got, rather than she deserved what she got.

The moral police on here have already explained that the young lady is the one who got what she deserved by dropping her knickers.

They are out there so is her name. There is apparently 3 videos, 2 show her as a willing participant and the 3rd is the one where she says get out. Theres a couple of websites where they're absolutely ripping her to shreds.
