The guy who scored came down their right hand side, so I’d have to say Widdowson.

Clay will be the interesting one, the same was said earlier in the season when Gorman was having a good run of form but was instantly dropped one Clay was available for selection. Today illness seems to have made that decision for RE but next week we shall see.
Gorman should be playing ahead of Marsh and Clay. He needs regular game time just like JMD. If he doesn't get enough game time between now and January he should look for a move.

Getting a point today was vital after our recent form. Dropping Brill and Coulson was a good start. Wright appears or is undropable no matter how he plays, I think it's a JE sentiment thing. We still need a new manager.

Possibly.

But we had a Happe and Turley there who should have dealt with it as well.

None of Gorman, Clay or Marsh have done enough to have anyone say they should be playing.

Hector has come into today and showed the lot of them how to do it.

I’ll need to see it again. When I saw it live my initial thought wasn’t “for God’s sake Joe” so it was probably a collective defensive failure.

Oldham really only had 2 decent chances. The one that went in and a free kick which hit the post.

1-1 away sounds like a decent score line but they really were a poor side.

A reasonable interview but it appears being a qualified football
coaching professional still doesn't quite cover the bleedin' obvious (playing a game on Wednesday leads to tired legs on the Saturday). Maybe try buying them all a Costa coffee before the game to peek the energy levels up  No cap either...

A refreshing interview.....sounds like a change of thinking.

Seems even more baffling why Ruel could not make the bench... Angol was sick but we risked him.... Dennis was also carrying injury.... But two central defenders on the bench was fine.

Turley, Kyprianou and Sargent have earned their places, time to let them have a bit of a run in the side and not punish a mistake by dropping, the players they have replaced have had that luxury for a while.

Widdowson was way out of position for their goal, once Smith was up against Happe it was no contest he put on the burners and that was it, but although I haven't seen a replay I still think there was a push on Hector in the build up .

We didn't create much all game but in truth neither did they. 1-1 was about right Turley and Kyprianou were excellent and despite the fact he has taken loads of OT stick on here because of his dad ,Ling was embarrassingly bad.

I would ship out Ling and Judd and bring in a new right back in January, until then perhaps Clay can do a job there because he doesn't deserve to start in midfield next week.

Clay isn’t disciplined enough.

Play Marv there, if Judd isn’t going to get another chance.

Thing is though Clay is going to get picked whatever, he's played right back before and done quite well. Although in truth I think we all know Ling will start next Saturday unless he's ill or injured.

It's time to give Raul his chance otherwise why recall him from Dover .

Because Wilkinson and Angol are a lot better.

Since they are both back we should have left Sotiriou at Dover to develop his game and get used to playing against men. So I agree with you there - poor decision to recall him. We put two centre backs on the bench ahead of him ffs.

Will RE get the Sam flak as CF because I notice he scratched his head and neck multiple times whilst he was interviewed -
Is there something about being in the football industry that makes a person do this - at work in another industry I never see this in meetings and interviews
Funny enough just saw Eddie Howe do it as well on MOTD, perhaps that's where Fletcher got it from :P

I agree. I think Marvin has played pretty well in the RB position . I would start him there for Saturday with Widdowson LB and Turley and Happe CB’s

So ignore the fact that Marv gets done by the corner flag/touchline time and time again in the RB position which has led to goals scored by opposition sides
Thank god you lot only get to select the team in a virtual world😉

You don’t make it easy, do you?

Can you just pick one account to make genuine football posts and another for trolling. Switching between your spen and Lucky7 account must be exhausting. Just pick one for each and everyone is a winner.

I watched Sons goal for Spurs yesterday against Burnley he ran the length of the pitch and scored. I'm sure it was Sam Lings fault.
