Agree. He was impressive last season and would add steel to the team and the club. He would also need assurances that other club figures would not interfere in team selection, for example.
Yes but that was last season . So far not doing so well this season
Either is Pep Guardiola.
Well your certainly nailing your colours to the mast about Nolan, wish I had your conviction, me I'd go for Russell again, he is more experienced and knows the club pretty well, we need someone to steady the ship, you never know he might even add a promotion to his cv.
Or lets have some fun with Sol

Stephan Constantine has absolutely no proven managerial experience in our Division.
Whilst he was first team coach at Millwall for the 2005/2006 season they were relegated at the end of the season.
I can’t believe the owners would be so negligent as to appoint him .
He’s a great manager who gets the best out of players who want to improve.
He was always on a hiding to nothing at Millwall with various factors impacting on the work he was trying to do.
His record at international level is amazing and I see no reason why he can’t continue that at club level.
Unless you are Stephen Constantine (his agent or a family member) i can't see how you could possibly have a clue on the points you've made.
Teams Managed:
1999–2001 Nepal
2002–2005 India
2005–2006 Millwall (first team coach)
2007–2008 Malawi
2009–2010 Sudan
2010 APEP
2010–2012 Nea Salamis
2012–2013 Ethnikos Achna
2013–2014 Apollon Smyrni (assistant manager)
2014–2015 Rwanda
2015–2019 India
I don't doubt what you say, i just find it hard to believe that someone other than Stephen Constantine would know what you say.
So come on Steve, spill the beans. You keen?

If Kevin Nolan is anything like he was at West Ham, I use to see him out every saturday/Sunday night without fail at the Essex clubs Funky Mojoes, 195, when we went Liverpool away he was in Mansion nightclub then the casino at 9am

Seen rumours on Twitter ( yeah, i know), that Daryl McMahon has been interviewed twice, and apparently, Steve Cotterill was at the game today.
Whether any of this means anything, i have no idea, but just reporting what ive seen

Anyone can go to a game tbf. Cotterill might be doing some scouting for a team.

Well it’s either him or mcmahon.
Ling has worked with both before so it would make sense.
Cheap options.

They will not command as much as someone of JE class.

What about compensation for taking McMahon?
If it was about a cheap option they'd just ask prospective managers to submit their salary requests and not bother interviewing them.

McMahon’s contract runs out at the end of the season so it won’t be much if anything at all.
He has only won 2 games out of 11 so they might be glad to get rid of him.

Martin Ling hasn’t got a clue, is it any wonder?
So far Martin Ling has appointed 2 managers. The first was a disaster and the second may be the best this club has ever had, at top 5 at worst.
Let's see how his third appointment goes by saying he hasn't got a clue.

Below are my top candidates (don’t shoot me down)
1st & 2nd choice both in jobs so are probably not possible at this moment in time, but if possible I would snap either up!
Chris Powell
Yes please, but one of Southgate team.
Kenny Jackett
Defo, but still Pompey manager
Phil Parkinson
Top Manager who is out of work, get him in the building.
Dave Challinor
Good manager, total class & respect for him in his interview describing JE,
Steve Cotterill
Good manager with lower league experience
Kevin Nolan
Not sure he would be a popular choice, but the guy has a good record and I’m sure he would do a job.
But in IMO it won’t be any of the above, Darren Currie is Fav, but wouldn’t be surprised to see the club go for old Nugent or for big name in Sol Campbell.

I actually used to play for him! When I heard his name mentioned for the job I thought I’d come on see what you guys thought about it.
I learnt more from him in a season than I did from any other manager/coach in my whole career.
Given a chance he will succeed.
All the best
