Re: It’s George marsh

Tottenham will have him back soon enough, if George Marsh is not getting many minutes. I don't think he will start tomorrow, but almost certain to get on at Mansfield.

Agreed - it would also ruin our "rep" with higher division clubs if we take them on only to be left as a bench warmer. I think Ross has an idea of what he wants to do with Marsh and how the team will then set up. Let's wait and see.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 8:01 am As said above, he has to play. No way will spurs tolerate him not getting game time.
Might do a better job.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:00 am Can you “ guarantee” it? I sincerely hope Spurs aren’t dictating when and where Marsh might play! Might as well give them the right to pick our team then if that’s the case.
Add to that list Joe Maguire. The Liverpool youngster joined us on a one month loan back in August 2015 when Ian Hendon was manager.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 8:54 am After recent seasons and the way we’ve treated young loanees - Abrahams, that forward from Palace, Westbrooke - you can guarantee spurs will have had assurances over how much game time he’ll get and where he’ll be played.
That was four years ago under a very different regime. In many ways it was a different club.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 11:32 amAdd to that list Joe Maguire. I may be wrong on this, but as I recall, shortly after he joined us, he played very well in the one game her played for us in a cup game away to MK Dons that we lost, then never played again, even as a sub and after his time here, went back to Liverpool !!
I would imagine the U23 manager or whoever is looking after George will have had discussions with Ross/Lingy to ascertain how we expect to use him, whether he’ll be starting or not, where he’ll play etc. And I’m sure they’ll have someone watching him as well.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:00 am Can you “ guarantee” it? Somewhat different tone to your original post “ guaranteeing “ we have have given Spurs assurances over how much game time Marsh will get and where he will be played I think? I can understand Spurs saying for example we don’t want him cup tied but as to the extent to which he plays and in what position - personally I think that scenario it is a non starter - those type of decisions are RE’s responsibility.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:41 pmI would imagine the U23 manager or whoever is looking after George will have had discussions with Ross/Lingy to ascertain how we expect to use him, whether he’ll be starting or not, where he’ll play etc. And I’m sure they’ll have someone watching him as well.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 9:00 am Can you “ guarantee” it? That’s pretty obvious, isn’t it?
I think Ross will be the last person able to make that decision.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:24 pmSomewhat different tone to your original post “ guaranteeing “ we have have given Spurs assurances over how much game time Marsh will get and where he will be played I think? Disagree. I'm talking about a lot more than just making sure he's not cup tied.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:24 pmSomewhat different tone to your original post “ guaranteeing “ we have have given Spurs assurances over how much game time Marsh will get and where he will be played I think? And, fearing the worst , he asks, why would that be?Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:30 pmI think Ross will be the last person able to make that decision.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:24 pmSomewhat different tone to your original post “ guaranteeing “ we have have given Spurs assurances over how much game time Marsh will get and where he will be played I think? He will be told when to pick him by Teague and Ling as well as Spurs. It will be in his loan agreement and if broken, Marsh will be the last Spurs youngster to be loaned here.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 6:09 pmAnd, fearing the worst , he asks, why would that be?Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:30 pmI think Ross will be the last person able to make that decision.redintheface wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 2:24 pm

Sid, do you think that George’s height will negatively impact on his performance or do we need to also recruit Snow White to help out?Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 5:44 pmYes you are correct !Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 5:31 pmLuton away in the JPT is the game you are thinking oftheballmagnet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 1:19 pm Add to that list Joe Maguire. Joe Maguire was on loan to use from Liverpool from 28th August 2015 till 28th September 2015. Looked up with what happened in his time at the Os and found out the following information, see below.
On 11th August 2015, we played in the league cup first round and lost away to Milton Keynes Dons by 2-1.
Then on 1st September 2015, we played in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy first round and lost away to Luton Town 2-1 and that game as you correctly say, is the one competitive game that Joe played for us. Apparently he played well, so well in fact that reading this old article below, he seemed to think he would be playing more games for the Os, never happened though and after his month at Leyton Orient, he went back to Liverpool.
Maguire focused on helping O's bounce back at Exeter.

New O’s loanee Joe Maguire may have tasted defeat in his first game at the Club, but he is hoping they can bounce back in style on Saturday at Exeter City. The 20-year-old made his debut at centre back in the 2-1 loss at Luton Town in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy last night, and though delighted to make his first appearance for the O’s, he was frustrated they didn’t come away with the victory.
“We went into the game hoping to keep up our unbeaten run but we unfortunately couldn’t get the win,” he told leytonorient.com
And your reason for thinking this?Disoriented wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 6:16 pmHe will be told when to pick him by Teague and Ling as well as Spurs. I think Ross will be the last person able to make that decision.
