Do we dare imagine a world in which people don't feel the need to stab each other because we've built a system of education, healthcare and compassion which reduces feelings of anger, hopelessness, disenfranchisement and fear?

Nah, that's too woke. Let's just come down on them like a tonne of bricks; that'll definitely cure it.

That sounds like it would take quite a long time to achieve.

Best not bother then. Let's carry on with quick fixes that don't fix anything.

No, I'm saying society is because there isn't any answer . Put it this way , what has been tried up until now and why didn't it work ?
You mean tried by the Conservatives, who have been in power for 13 years and caused poverty to grow exponentially across the country.

Thanks for pointing that out.
Can you tell me what Labour did to stop knife crime and poverty between 1997 and 2010 when they were in power for 13 years please as for certain, it still existed.
What are you trying to say here? Where is your evidence that knife crime / deaths was worse under Labour? Poverty sure as hell wasn’t.

Not a New Labour fan but if LCL could be bothered to have a read up on stuff like SureStart he'd answer the latter part of his question.
