It’s a cop out to describe Brand as “far right”; his political journey, such as it is, has been towards the crank left then beyond into the conspiracy zone of hippy anti big pharma covid denial sh*t. It’s not specifically far right, it’s just bat sh*t crazy. If people on the left are washing their hands of him on the basis of framing it as a 180 turn by Brand, they’re deluding themselves. He has escalated his behaviour and stridency of his positions on everything he’s ever said, and politics is no exception. He was always a liability to the left and his descent into the mad crankosphere was predictable.

Agree with CEB on that. Quite a few of the conspiracies he platforms - or 'just asks questions about' - are also espoused by the far right for their own ends and agendas but, as far as I know, he's never got into all the Great Replacement sh*t that often goes along with it or anything like that. Too convenient to write him off as fash.

Im undecided on this, but does anyone think theres a possibility this has been brought to the publics attention, because of Brands attacking the Establishment via his YouTube channel.
Some of this allegedly happened 15 years ago, so why now in 2023 is it being made public?
Im sure theres a bunch of Tory MP's who have done similar stuff but we dont see these pro Establishment figures behaviour being made so public like this.
Andrew Rossindell ( Tory mp for Romford) was arrested about 15 months ago on alleged sexual abuse charges of a minor, and what about Chris Pincher the Tory MP who allegedly groped and sexually assaulted men..neither of their lives have been made into a documentary .
So it occurs, the Mainsteam might be trying to get rid of someone , who is making them very uncomfortable.
As an aside, I think Brand is a vile person, and i hope the police get involved. These women need justice IF what they claim is true

“I’m undecided on this, but hey - has anyone considered that Russell Brand’s substance free deluded manic rant might have been true?”
Well yes, every bumhole on the internet has immediately decided that the mainstream media have decided to attack someone no longer in any way relevant or influential now, in 2023 rather than when he was prominent.
Tell me, the mainstream media are doing so in a way that directly implicates… er… the mainstream media, for what reason, exactly?

You don't think the allegations against Chris Pincher got coverage? It was wall to wall for days. The Establishment really need to do a better of looking after their own.
Absolute brain rot.

Out of interest, COYORS, who do you think is out to 'get' Brand, here?
The UK Government?
The World Health Organisation?
'Big Pharma' (who specifically? Moderna? Pfizer?)
Soros?
Bill Gates?
Genuinely would like to hear your thoughts. Just saying 'the Establishment' is too vague. Flesh out your thoughts here and what they're based on.

I'm glad that there are no Labour MPs under investigation or have been suspended. They (MPs) are mostly all as bad as each other.

I reckon Brand is probably guilty, there are a lot of accusations, more than one witness to certain events, he appears to have had some sort of sex addiction and be fairly depraved.
What undeniable evidence is there? From memory, the woman alleging rape near the begining of the programme had an apologetic text from him and had a rape kit thing done. (is this kept?) Was there anything else?

Tbf the Israelis were lumped in with Soros.

Just pointing out that suggesting its only concerning one party (COYO's post ) is naive beyond belief.

No -- this is precisely what he wants you to think, and probably one of the reasons he's shifted his flavour of batshit commentary in recent years.
These accusations have been doing the rounds on the UK comedy scene for several years (in which it's believed he had a super injunction, which is why it never 'leaked'), and he's used that time to cosy up to exactly the kind of people who will treat accusations of this kind as evidence that he's "too close to the truth" (alt-right/"free speech absolutist"/conspiracy goons).

Actually the thought entered my head the other day, that maybe a decision on whether or not to prosecute, the alleged, arrested, but not suspended Tory MP is imminent. Russel Brand may have been kept in wraps for just such a day. Everyone knows he is is a wrong 'un and his come uppance is imminent. But Brand could be a very convenient smokescreen if the said Tory is to be charged-all Hell would be let loose if this darling of the looney far-Right goes to trial. It would be a case of who let the (Staffie ) dogs out!

Yeah, aside from a contemporary account of the raped woman seeking support for being raped, and a text by the rapist apologising for the rape, there’s not much else.
You’d at least expect a few witnesses, video footage, decoding of the rapists neurons to indicate whether he genuinely believed he had consent or not. Flimsy.

Phew, I hope you got rid of that thought soon after it entered your head, before you did anything silly like make it sound like you believe it

I heard it from the same person who told me about RBs behaviour (which as been a bit of an open secret in the UK comedy scene for a few years) some time ago. To be fair I don't have any hard evidence of the injunction, so I'll edit that part of my post

This does appear quite damning, if it is real. It does look a bit dodgy.

If it weren't real I doubt they'd have included it in the report -- the libel laws in this country are pretty strong.
