Re: Harlow
No Turley in yesterdays game, perhaps on holiday, slight injury ?
I was impressed with all the young players and feel a bit more optimistic for next season.
At first glance, Lee Angol looks a good forward, tricky and quick. From where I was standing in the first half, never got much of a close view of Conor Wilkinson, looked like he did ok, also scored ! I moved my position and was then ( still in the first half ) on the right side of the Os defence. I was impressed with Kyprianou who was playing on the right side of the back three with Myles Judd playing in front of him. Hector looked a classy player, played some nice controlled balls out from the back and always seemed to have time, never rushed. Reminded me ( big stretch of the imagination and perhaps wrong ! ) of a Glen Roeder type player, if so, then he would be a real asset ! Lastly, had a nice large burger with onions for only £2, went around 30 minutes into the game and only had a short wait. I had moved from my position behind the Harlow goal due to all the smoke from a stall selling barbecued Burgers that were double the price at £4, rather pointless I thought and that smoke was too near the pitch for me to stay in that position, made me cough !!

Angol looks like he’s going to be fun to watch. Infuriating at times too.

Re: Harlow
Well considering he walked around the whole of the ground twice with Brophy in the first half and by himself twice in the second half in full view of everyone stopping to sign autographs having photos taken etc it would suggest your binoculars need adjustingSid Bishop wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:55 amI was not watching the pre training. Re: Harlow
I obviously missed him, I was concentrating on watching the game........ not players walking around.... I did see Brophy walk by though.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 10:13 amWell considering he walked around the whole of the ground twice with Brophy in the first half and by himself twice in the second half in full view of everyone stopping to sign autographs having photos taken etc it would suggest your binoculars need adjustingSid Bishop wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 9:55 amI was not watching the pre training. Seems like it, but he is not as bad as some for ageism on this forum. Still getting older comes to us all and one day these characters who dislike older people will be pensioners themselves, that is if they get that far !!ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 10:01 amHe cant help himself Sid...hes a nasty piece of work. Re: Harlow
Yeah did well with the link up. However, he was a guilty for the first two goals we conceded. He got done for both goals and got twisted up and those crosses ended up on the head of what’s his name and goal both times. They targeted him both times and done him both times. He’s was not good enough last season. I hope he’s better this season.Orient_Man_And_Boy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 06, 2019 10:44 pm Horient: yes, the third / winner against Eastleigh is exactly my point. A positive attack, a nimble 1-2 in the box and the telling cross. Several thousand fans going ape!
I agree I struggle with him as a traditional full back but push him more forward, give him some latitude and confidence and who knows!
Some years back everybody was against Shane Tudor ... then they had to watch the season highlight DVD and count the number of his crosses that led directly to goals.

Re: Harlow
Ling is certainly nowhere near to being anything like as good as some of the best right backs that I remember playing for the Os. First right back I ever saw play was Stan Charlton .....hard act to be getting anywhere near as good as he was !!Thor wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 10:32 amYeah did well with the link up. Stan Charlton was a great right back as was Dave Webb for the O's.
Sam Ling is two million miles away as a right back !!!
