He seems to be their U21 manager as well... not sure why he would give that up for us - we are hardly a long-term opportunity for him.

I'd have imagined the new midfield signing will be a younger cheaper back-up to Clay, or if we are being ambitious, a proven midfield scrapper at this level.

Good research. This transfer was brought up on that discredited Twitter account so I agree that this is unlikely.

If this is the fella I think it is, I'm all over this. Just what we need in the middle from what I remember (admittedly in just the one game!)

There is no truth whatsoever in the Josh Falkingham talk.

Next season, yeah? Great. Lose Bonne on a free and Koroma for tribunal money after forcing them to stay at the club where they will no doubt be distracted or unhappy. Genius idea. Much better than raking in £750,000ish and replacing them with players who actually want to be here.
Err no actually, you negotiate a new contract increasing their pay and you go again. It’s how football works if you did’t know. All players can be bought it’s just a question of how much.
It is possible, but maybe the player's ambitions were about more than just money. The money we would have had to offer to incentivise them to stay in League 2 rather than go to the Championship would be so huge it would be a mistake financially.

Sometimes there's just not a lot you can do.

Red Army is right - we had been through that renegotiation process back in 2018 and managed to convince the pair of them to stay another year. We wouldn't have been able to do it again.

Remember when they supposedly bid £2m for Brian Saah? I reckon it's just a ploy to get someone to raise their offer.
Yeah, think this is a ploy to up the ante.

Lower league journeyman. Maybe he has the steel we are looking for in midfield. Not really exciting, just making up the numbers. Bench warmer.

At least if he goes we know we're getting decent money for him.
Spurs transfer funds will be going towards players that can contribute to their team/squad and players that are much further along their development curve than Happe. No way will they spend £500k on a long shot who is a huge maybe to get somewhere near their first team squad in 3-4 years.

That’s why footballers have agents. Contracts are a two way street and players don’t have to sign. So negotiations don’t have to take place at all of the agent recommends that route. Agents are savvy people.

Looks like he's a little'un - so a younger, less journeyed Charlie Lee. Agree on his impact.

A fiesty little’un can work in midfield. Hope so.

That's a sample size of 1 game though. Totally agree that he is the sort of player that we need, just not necessarily that he is the exact player we need.

Go on to the Harrogate site and listen to his pre-season chat. Full of excitement and looking forward to their new signings. So positive he cant possibly consider a move.
