Re: Why the hell
Apple Womble, suggesting I’ve never run outside is laughable, I boxed on and off for 17 years and ran virtually every day , but these are drastic times and people must make sacrifices.

Re: Why the hell
I live on a country estate and there's loads of families and individuals coming up the drive and walking their dogs in the woods and along the track or just getting out into the fresh air. Some have driven to get up here - most are from the houses around the estate. Mrs Spike and I have also taken to marching around the track to keep active and get some much needed fresh air rather than being cooped up inside all the time. When we pass people we all keep our distances and wish each other well. It's nice to see other smiling faces.
I'm not sure I can see any downside at all to this activity.

The issue spike is if people drove there for example. They would meet people at a petrol station, at the place they visit, in a shop, all opportunities to come into contact with someone else. That’s the problem, not bimbling around it’s the people contact.

Staying healthy is going to be a key part of keeping your immune system strong and able to fight the virus off. The restrictions of movement aren't just going to be in place for the coming weeks, the likelihood is they'll be implemented off and on until we get a vaccine or achieve herd immunity, which could be 12-24 months. People can't be prisoners in their homes that whole time.

Re: Why the hell
Can I suggest you post this to Australia Government ( the stay at home bit) who, well up to last Wednesday anyway, kept telling people that it was important for schools to stay open. This despite parents (20%) taking a decision to remove kids from school.
Interestingly last Tuesday the local MacDonalds was full of kids getting their morning fix from a fully staffed shop, on their way to school.
Though I believe this has changed but as of yesterday 60% of the shops in the local shopping mall were open according to my son who, like many others in Perth, continue to move around freely.
Things are being tightened up considerably though. People complain of Government inaction and mixed messages. Some experts talk about flattening the curve due to Medical shortages, other suggests short lock downs then back to work, then short lockdowns again. In the media, some of Boris’s actions have been said as the way to go.
Truth is we remain in a massive learning curve.

Re: Why the hell
Just been to my local shop and he said he’s thinking of closing. He is struggling to fill his shelves with product and the risk of catching it is high.
