Boris and Parity

Post by Max B Gold »

Boris said he would give "the" self employed parity with the PAYE'ers.

Today his stand in Chancellor declared income relief for the self employed.

It isn't "parity".

Does he even know the meaning of the word.

Get the fat beloved aunt out now.

5 Million of us Self employed demand it.

Surely they should be allowed to pay in bugger all and yet get the same ‘benefit’ as us employed mugs, shouldn’t they .....?

Being self employed you have a valid point. Very clever move by government to make these emergency payments to self employed based on actual annual tax returns. So those who don’t declare all their earnings will receive only 80% of the money they actually declared. I think, and hope, that this move will encourage, even force, all people self employed to make honest tax returns. Also any self employed person who has formed a limited company to take the advantages this offers will receive no benefit at all. You can’t have it both ways.
For those fully employed can you honestly say you haven’t ever cheated the tax man by paying workmen cash for jobs, in many cases to avoid paying an extra 20% in VAT.
This crisis will be a real wake up call and hopefully ensure that we all pay tax.

When this is over I can see the self employed being forced to change to a more paye type system. This virus will also give the government the opportunity to do away with physical cash, which will help the tax take among the self employed.

it means 2 things firstly he is following Corbyns agenda by throwing huge amounts of moneyat the economy with no real plan to recover it and secondly you've had a humour failure.

1. Corbyn had a plan unlike this unkempt clown.
2. Never as your comment wasn’t funny.

This is going to ruin black cab drivers all over London.
My brother was an HMRC investigator, most of his “clients”’were black rats. They’re all serial pisstakers. He was looking over one guy who declared about £10k one year. He went over to check out his property for valuation, just in time to see a brand-new Merc being delivered off a trailer. He called him in and hit him with a conservative £30k tax demand, else he’d do a full forensic tax investigation. He paid the £30k.
