Opening Windows & clapping
Who is partaking ?
Do we think they deserve a little support back from us all ?
I certainly do & i may be doing it on my own .
At least it.keeps my hands busy !!
Filthy feckers !!!
I meant from washing them !!

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
Clapping, whilst a nice gesture, doesn't help. Funding and support from our government as well as better wages and proper equipment will go a lot further.

I think I'd prefer it if they simply had the PPE and other equipment they need to do the job we so desperately need them to do, and to do it safely without putting themselves at risk, but I suppose a round of applause couldn't hurt.

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
Trouble is hardly any of them are gonna hear it as they will be working there socks off as per usual
Social media has now gone from a click this to a clap motion
It’s a bit like stand up for the Orient
I’m not a sheep

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
We are doing it. It's the smallest of gestures but it will be appreciated by our NHS workers. Least we can do is show our support.

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
I wonder how many that now want to clap the NHS voted tory?
Supporting a party that for the past 10 years has absolutely decimated this brilliant service.
Pure hypocrisy, such as this meaningless gesture, truly makes me want to puke - a view shared by my Wife; who has been a nurse in the NHS for the past 27 years.

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
I can understand why people dont want to partake &
Im certainly not trying to influence .
Just had lots of support from the health service for myself & family members over the years, so am more
than happy to partake.

Tell that to NHS workers; who are underpaid, overworked, stressed to breaking point and don't have the tools to do their job.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:51 pmNuneatonO's wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:50 pm I wonder how many that now want to clap the NHS voted tory?

That's not just during this Coronavirus pandemic either.
The state of the National Health Service is EVERYTHING to do with politics; and the savage annihilation of the service, under the last 10 years of a tory government!

I'll tell my Wife when she gets in tomorrow morning around 7am (having gone into work for 5pm).
I'm sure she'll be so grateful.

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
Hopefully the club will make a gesture to local NHS staff by inviting them along to a game or two next season.
I think they get a discount on tickets, or they used to and I know our club are usually very good at This type of thing anyway.
I heard that Brighton are giving away 1,000 tickets next season for example.
I’ve just come back from my street door was pleasantly surprised that most of my neighbours were out joining in with the clapping.

Re: Clap Clap for the NHS
She text me actually about half hour ago about this event. Not being on (un)social media, I wouldn't have even known.
Moreover, it was her who (to paraphrase) said "pity that people don't have this admiration for us when they are in a polling booth at election time".

Well this is our tiny way of showing support to the health service .
Futile or not if nurses & doctors get to go to work the next day because people appreciate them , maybe theyll have a second less of a stressful day.
You are getting far to much of Old Geezer Max
