I've got five days off now (leave booked from last year and some restdays) but something struck me as I worked my second from last train that it may be the last train I work.My actual last train today was cancelled.I'm going into isolation now for five days.I'm sure things will change by the Saturday and probably not for the better.

It actually was a drill With the MSM showing it the next day. It was highlighting how they wanted the people to cooperate with the authorities if they were stopped.

Another increase of deaths under 50, so far we are avoiding the Italian scenario + 2 weeks that people talk about.

Italy saw a doubling of daily deaths 2 weeks ago from 233 to 466 over two days (Sunday and Monday), thankfully today's increase isn't replicating that

Doom and gloom merchant.
Expecting the worst.
They are cutting the train services next week and using the strike timetables.Probably not a good idea to cram people on trains unless they can social distance.Today has been very quiet at work.Didn't have too many passengers.Probably the least I have ever seen at this time.
One of our staff was ill (coughing and obviously unwell) a few weeks ago and was sent home.I even spoke to him when we didn't take it as serious as it is now.Haven't seen him since and he's still off sick. Can't find out any info.Would be great to see him again and he's younger than me and probably fitter.
The railway situation may change in a very short time.I never thought it was a good idea to run the tube either as I thought it would be a major transmitter of this virus.
We may have to go into lockdown and I'm not sure of my own health.I had a chest infection about a month ago and was unwell yesterday, though no cough.12+hr headache...Too cold then too hot.Dry mouth during the night when trying to sleep and very tired. The cycle ride in was bad and back was even worse I just had no physical power and had to walk part of the way.At least on today's commute I managed without walking part of the way because I was ninety percent better.I came very close to blowing my 17 years without a day off sick, yesterday.

Oh yeah couldn't eat for 24 hours no appetite.

Drop in deaths and new infections for Italy. Hope they've turned the corner.

I do hope so.

Had to put restrictions in to turn the tide.

As bad as today's deaths are, at least we did not continue the trend of tracking Italy's fatality rate by 14 days. Hopefully we're on a better trajectory.

Transport for London
TfL logo

Dear Mr Bonehead,

Thank you to those of you who are following the Government and Mayor’s instructions not to travel unless your journey is absolutely essential.

The number of people using our services has fallen dramatically. but we need even more of you to stop travelling.

This is critical to fighting the spread of COVID-19, protecting the NHS and maintaining safe and reliable transport for health, logistics and other critical workers.

Making non-essential journeys risks lives.

Please only travel if your journey is absolutely essential. If you do travel, follow the expert advice on hand washing and other health measures. We are operating reduced services and closing a number of stations so that we can keep things running for critical workers.

If you absolutely must travel, always check Journey Planner and our travel tools.

Please continue to help our hardworking staff and maintain this action in the weeks and months ahead.

Stay safe and thank you for not travelling.

Yours sincerely

Vernon Everitt
Managing Director, Customers, Communication & Technology

Just got this.Luckily as being a so called key worker I don't have to use public transport to get to work.

Keeps the non keyworkers who sneak on at these stations plus less stations to "police" from the people I saw today who obviously wern't keyworkers.Got to be better than nothing.

Suppose they could put their bikes or scooters on the train if need be.Thats if there is still enough space after reducing the service and no dodgy undesireables sneaking on.Then again that's only possible on local routes (I mean with the bikes and scooters stuff to get to the station they need) and not main line routes.

another typo. :(((

Yikes, that is an eye-opener.

Youngest daughter has been coughing regularly today, feels hot, and has been occasionally sick. I'm fearing the worst.

I don't feel so self important to be classed as a key worker but I knew you were referring to yourself.Probably worded my sentence wrong that's why there is a misunderstanding. What I meant is different to how you understood it.Yes non essential good wording.

Latest UK figures would suggest not we are actually at a higher rate than Italy was 2 weeks ago
