Yeah, there’s still too many Brits not showing enough social responsibility over this yet: whether that’s ridiculous panic buying at the supermarkets or avoiding non-essential trips to venues and spaces like pubs. It’s an “I’m alright, Jack” attitude by some that the Govts half-cocked requests to curb & avoid usual behaviour hasn’t cut through to yet. Expect enforced lockdowns imminently, with squaddies assisting the police to enforce it.
Found a decent quote that might help some of the hard of thinking;
"MOST PEOPLE HAVE A FEAR OF ACQUIRING THE VIRUS. I THINK THAT A GOOD WAY OF DOING IT IS TO IMAGINE THAT YOU DO HAVE THE VIRUS AND CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOUR SO THAT YOU'RE NOT TRANSMITTING IT. DON'T THINK ABOUT CHANGING YOUR BEHAVIOUR SO YOU WON'T GET IT. THINK ABOUT CHANGING YOUR BEHAVIOUR SO YOU DON'T GIVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE"

Just had an eMail from cousin in South Wales, she and all her family have had Coronavirus and must have been some of the first ever to get it. She told me a good few weeks ago that she had a terrible cough over Christmas and felt dreadful. Her daughter works at Cardiff University and they have links to Wuhan University.
Here is her first hand account:-" Four lecturers and phd student came back 7th December to the office from China so she wondered if that was an issue as they reported that there was a virus that was giving people pneumonia and everyone in the Province was twitchy. She doesn't know if they succumbed to the virus. On 13th December she came down with all the symptoms. She went to 'out of hours' in hospital as concerned about sepsis again. They didn't give her antibiotics but she ended up a few days later with GP as had terrible cough. They gave her steroids and asthma pumps and she is now on waiting list to see ENT specialist as she has problems with tonsils . She was convinced though that her windpipe was the problem and had difficulty breathing.
She is fine now but I came down with it on 19th December with exactly the same symptoms. I went to the GP and said that my daughter had worked with people who had come back from Wohan but they dismissed my theory. It starts with fever and aches and tiredness and then the dry cough which was terrible. After 7 days it sort of mutated so I had fluid pouring out of my nose and down my throat so I was sick a lot just like Ffion and I felt like I was drowning in fluid. I was breathless so rang GP again. They couldn't feel anything on my chest but sent me for an x-ray which came back negative. I had antibiotics but they didn't help. Eventually it stopped ,as I said by mid January ,but my throat is very dry from all the coughing. My Grandson caught it from me and possibly my husband but had very mild symptoms. I can't believe I went to a hospital, GP surgery twice, and tried to carry on with Christmas etc as doctor convinced me it wasn't possible for me to have caught it in December.
I have only removed names from her account. My cousin is in her mid-sixties. She looks after her Grandson who is a small infant. Her daughter must be early thirties and has had a few health issues and had an awful pregnancy ( bed-ridden through constant chucking up ).

This lady has more sense than Trump Johnson Whitty and Vallance
She's got a bigger pair than Boris that's for sure. Why don't we put our politicians in the UK under that kind of pressure? Most of ours would probably storm off in a huff in that situation. Get her in the building!
I spoke to a neighbour and he was at the local Tesco at 4.30am this morning, he said there was already a lengthy queue even though it did not open until 6am. When it did open they only let 20 people in at a time and they didn't have much new stock anyway.

So the government want people to stay away from large gatherings somewhat does our useless mayor do? I know let's put on less tubes and cram the people on to a tube and hope no one has coronavirus.
The man is a useless tw*t, still he dont care about our young getting stabbed so I'm sure he won't care if a few die of a virus cos of his decision whilst all the while hes in a chauffeur driven car.

I'd love to headbutt the little idiot.
Do you think that he made the operational decision to cut tubes himself? Aren't there Senior management within TFL who might make these calls?

Probably but he secretly overruled them. From a person ITK.

In other news its a lovely sunny day today and the fishing season is almost upon us. I've been cleaning my tackle and sharpening my hunting knife.
Amazing how many people remember to clean there tackle when a pandemic is occurring!!
