I take it you're referring to Duane Allman then?

I don't really understand Guitar riffs , I'm more into the 60s Mersey sounds , would the Shadows music count as Guitar riffs?? ( they of course are not mersey sounds )

Amazing the so called knowledgable ones (I say that loosely) can’t tell the difference between a riff and a lead/solo

Yep, there are plenty of non riffs amongst this lot of offerings.

I saw Wishbone Ash or at least Andy Powell and co last November.
The King Will Come sounded exactly as I remembered it, their version of The Pilgrim was good too
The other lead guitarist is excellent, vocals are a bit weak though, but still an excellent night of riffs, licks and solos

I certainly do Lovejoy. I saw them back 1973 at the Wembley Arena with their original line up of Andy Powell, Martin Turner,
Ted Turner and Steve Upton. A really fabulous concert, the whole place was rocking. They had eighteen Vox amplifiers arranged
with six down each side and six across a gantry above, wow, that was some sound.

A Riff by definition is a musical phrase about which a song is built. The acknowledged master of the riff is Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. Try Lord of this World (Conjures up visions of Dwarves dancing) or St. Vitus Dance (Does exactly what it says on the tin)

Saw Wishbone Ash many times but the most memorable was at the old Chez Club Red Lion Leytonstone circa '71. I was a foot from the pa speakers. Loudest concert I ever attended. Ears ringing for a week afterwards. Great Band.
