So the players could not shake hands before the game, but they all shook hands at the end.

Re: Coronavirus
Northern Italy basically makes up most of the Italian economy. They really have mishandled the outbreak. They never identified the original source and cross community spread has now overwhelmed them. God bless them

Re: Coronavirus
They woudnt really need to identify the original source .
It would be kind of to hard considering the place would have been full of Chinese buisness people

Mine is as well. Was due to leave this morning - bizarrely Easyjet flight still departed even though place is now in lockdown.Disoriented wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 8:40 am The missus not happy as her Venetian trip is now kaput.
Whilst I would have been en-route the hotel called to cancel as they are closing until April.
Disoriented - am I also married to your missus?

UK also reports its largest number of people recovered from the corona virus, which for 90% of people is no more than a heavy cold

Re: Coronavirus
Capitalism eh .
Chinas communism had the right idea
Lock everything down & restrict movement .
Plenty laughed on here at the draconian measure .
Seemed to be the right thing to do though.
Glad youre ok secret agent Thor,

Re: Coronavirus
Apparently, we can expect 30% to 50% of the population picking up this virus. 80% of those that get it will have minor symptoms. 10% could be hospitalised. Unsure at the moment, what percentage of the population will ultimately meet their maker.
No country in the world has a health system that is prepared or has the ability to deal with such an outbreak. Most world Governments are hoping that they don't experience all cases at once say over a three week period. I know they are in containment phase but with cross community cases becoming more widespread, this is looking pretty goddamn serious.
I didn't think much about it until I listened to some leading Doctors for infectious disease being interviewed about it this weekend. I know they don't want panic but now I would be concerned about those that are more vulnerable and susceptible to infections. It's only a matter of time that major events especially indoor events will be cancelled.
Just keep listening to the medical experts and not the politicians. Hopefully, you'll all be ok.

Re: Coronavirus
I've been wondering about something. Boris reckons the majority of people who catch this virus will only have minor symptoms yet coronavirus is supposed to be worse that flu . Question , just how bad is "Mild ' for something that's worse than flu . ? Fully blown flu ?? Also I went down to my local Costcos this morning and took one look at the crowd and called it a day . The queue waiting to get in was unbelievable . Some people out there are in full blown panic mould . Apparently toilet rolls are in high demand . If this carry's on I'll have to start buying the Guardian.RoryRocks wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 8:01 pmApparently, we can expect 30% to 50% of the population picking up this virus. 80% of those that get it will have minor symptoms. 10% could be hospitalised. Re: Coronavirus
Coronavirus is worse in the sense that there is currently no antidote to treat it nor vaccine to prevent it. The symptoms, by all accounts, seem to be much the same though (fever, cough, headache, tiredness and so on), so a mild case of coronavirus would seem to be pretty much the same as a mild dose of the flu.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 1:04 pm I've been wondering about something. Re: Coronavirus
I see the cobra meeting today discussed closing all schools tomorrow. The logistical and care nightmare that would come out of the back of that would be huge.
