We've had plenty of rubbish seasons in the past, but I agree this one takes the biscuit.

It's not just the results. Let's face it we've been relegated plenty of times before. It's been the lack of anything to enjoy or cheer about. The number of home games when we haven't even had a shot on goal, must have been at an all time high. There's been nothing to get excited about. The way things are now, I can't even think "oh it will be better next season".

I think that the high we all felt least season what made it seem worse.

As for going next season, of course we'll all go. It's what Saturday afternoons are all about.

Embleton shows no ambition to go out and try to dominate a game, especially at home so we end up with 90 minutes and 1 shot on target. ST sales will be interesting to see who stumps up for more of that next season.

Huxley makes a good point though, I've sat there at times this season and thought "yup, fair enough they're a good side and deserve the win... played some nice stuff" rather than "oh yet another bunch of thugs getting away with assault". NL really is a tinpot league, so glad we're out of it.

The dullest football we played all season was under Fletcher.
First half v Carlisle was the best football we've played at home this season. Shame the players are so unfit they couldn't keep it up for more than 45 minutes
That will be because its a 90 minute game and we shot our bolts.

Football has been dour at best, style of play dull, few goals. few shots on target. little entertainment, few wins at home. No notable games that you could call a classic. No players that get us off our seats. No exciting loanees like Mpoku. No Fa Cup success. End of season games happening in late Feb as only one team goes down and our mission (line ups ) seems to have been to simply not get relegated. Cant go up, cant go down for a long while now, Even if Alabi had scored that would have been something. Has anything remotely exciting happened this season that really stands out as i'm struggling to find one. Possibly the opening of the burger stand for me but that's about it....
Alabi scored at Grimsby, and bedlam did ensue.

The only thing enjoyable.about that season is that carlisle were relegated .

Dont forget the 80s with the.conscutive thrashings at home by the likes of Newport
& bristol rovers ( i think it was) 0-5.& 1-6
As for 2014/15 & 15/16 only HATE of Beelzebub kept us interested.
14/15 and 15/16 were far from dull.

There's a difference between bad and dull.

Dull is related to mediocrity, lack of important games and lots of unexciting games.

I mean... I do agree with the general sentiment expressed here but our crowds have held up remarkably well, and are still much higher than when we were having similarly bottom-third seasons in the division above in the Hearn years. And there was a greater sense of jeopardy then, with 4 relegation spots.

Over the last 50 years of my support of the O’s I’ve seen duller but I’ll agree it has not been great and I do strongly believe this group of players could do far better

Of course we'll be there next season . There's always that change that things could greatly improve , we could get into the playoffs or even promoted . As somebody famous once said " it's the hope that kills you".

Our crowds have held up well and I think that credit should go to Danny Macklin and the marketing team, however they will need to come up with something special to get 4,300 of us to renew our Season Tickets for next season.

Yes, this group of players can do better, I have no doubt. I don't want to see Ross Embleson leave the club, but in my opinion he's not good enough to get this 'team' firing on all cylinders. And this is where our problem lies, not so much with individuals, but as a team.
For starters, you only have to look at our woeful shots on target stats..

The hammering at Fulham was hugely entertaining - George Best was pulling the strings .... hardly dull ( tragic for us ? well, yes)
Come to think of it :

Laurie Cunningham was in the side until he was sold - 35+ Apps - hugely entertaining
Chiedozie's debut when he took an ageing Tony Hazell
Seeing that Forest side with Woodcock Robertson O Neill et al
The run to the ASC final and playing Scots sides.
The Darlo 2nd replay
The games against Chelsea
The Wolves game at home
The fightback against Bolton
Southampton with Ball, Osgood and Channon in the side
The last gasp survival game home to Hull
The League Cup ties against Millwall ( scary beyond hell)

It was epic !

Yes mind numbing dullness is totally different to poor. As Orient supporters , in a weird way, we actually enjoy when it really gets bad. Whether it be watching 1-5 home defeats, being 4- 1 up at home to Exeter and losing with 15 minutes to go, watching in disbelief at Donn and Vincelot in midfield, working out if Jens Jense was ever a footballer, watching Phil Mulhyrne trying to run - all poor but extremely entertaining. This years season - very plain - perfectly illustrated by Wright. Lots of sideways passing, nothing extraordinary, not awful, passes you by...

1982 - we had just got relegated to division 3

I had us top in me league ladder, and then we lose 3 games at home back to back 1-5, newport , oxford , and bristol rovers

I remember ringing the orient and saying what time do we kick off - they replied every 15 minutes

It was awful, but not dull

Things were generally pretty dull in the 90's. But this season has been just awful in my book. Last year we were up near the top all season, we were actually top for half of it and ended up being Champions. It was a fantastic season. We were actually big Leyton Orient, a big fish in a small pool, taking huge numbers of fans to away games and generally just being the team to beat. Then came Justin's tragic death and since then we have just morphed back into little Leyton Orient, just being happy to be back in the league, playing dreadful sterile sideways, snails pace football and seemingly quite content to finish anywhere but 24th. I can't wait for the season to finish to be honest. But I'll be back next year hoping for better things.

Fair assessment, but the bad thing is, next season will be the same, because the same clueless people who are running the playing side, will still be running the playing side.

Put whatever slant on it you want, the team have underperformed! Is that down to the management? Very likely!
