Erm, subject to the FTP Act, the election after next is scheduled for 2029. As no party has ever overturned a defeat of the magnitude suffered by Labour within one election cycle before, DCC's prediction above is pretty realistic.

There was a Fixed Term Parliament Act 2011 (Repeal) Bill (HL)2019, that had it's first reading in the House of lords 28 Oct 2019 then the election sort of got in the way, Boris is going through Parliament changing all those lords decision that were put in the way of the House of Commons before the election, eventually the FTPA will be dealt with
