Well his first goal was with his right foot, second with his head. As to being left footed, do you mean the little left footed pass inside at 1:17 ?
Well if so, just a little touch that all pro footballers should be able to do. I could play passes with my weak left foot from around 11 years old, just needs practice, later on scored goals with both feet, left foot was weaker and goals I scored with that foot were more like passing the balls into the net. Great players like Bobby Charlton could hit the balls very hard with either to pass or score goals with either foot. Not many players, when out on the wing, can hit good accurate crosses into the box with their weaker foot, that is why a right footed player playing on the left wing will often cut inside to cross with his right foot and vice versa.

Cool story, Sid.

I meant the dribble for his first goal was all left footed.

Thanks for your reply. Well he does use his left foot on the run for his first goal, but that is pretty normal ( or should be ? ) when you are dribbling a ball. Dribbling the ball seems to be somewhat of a forgotten art as are old fashioned wingers. I was brought up on watching wingers and was dribbling a ball using both feet as I ran to keep tight control of the ball, from before I was 11 years old. We used to play ''playground'' football at school using a tennis ball, great practice for learning to dribble and general ball control, in fact the other kids had a problem in getting the ball off me ! We had no smart phones or other distractions in those days, so like most youngsters of that time, my leisure time was spent playing football ( my best sport ) cricket, table tennis and fishing. One of the best wingers I ever saw play live was the fast and skilful left winger Peter Thompson who played on the left wing for Preston North End, he was amazing and gave our Captain ( legendary right back Stan Charlton ) a torrid time in the match I saw, quote from Wikipedia '' He was a legendary winger at Liverpool who could beat defenders for fun and cause absolute havoc to any defender'' Peter transferred to Bill Shanklys Liverpool and became a great player for them. Peter suffered a lot of rough treatment from the defenders of that time, it was just about the only way they could stop him.

Brandon Goodshipm well looked him up on Wikipedia and their records show ''On 10 June 2019, Goodship signed for League One side Southend United on a two-year-deal with the option of a further 12 months'' So far his record for them is 22 games played and 3 goals scored. Of course must be hard to score a goal for such a struggling side.

Wish you had been there with me that night, i went with my dad, must have been 15 years old at the time ! I looked the match up, it was our promotion year and that game was on a Friday 9th February 1962. Peter Thompson was a hell of a winger and went on to become a legend at Liverpool FC. When I see a great player on the other side of the team i support, well I have to applaud them, be it George Best, Shane Warne, you name them !! The great games you remember are often played with great players in the teams. Preston were a really good attacking footballing side at that time and in the 1964 FA cup final they played West Ham ( Peter Thompson was gone by then ) and narrowly lost 3-2 in a classic final. As underdogs, I wanted 2nd division Preston to win !

Obviously all about opinions, but think that is a bit harsh, playing in a team that just doesn't create chances. With the exception of young Ruel, who seems to have the ability to make something out of nothing, all the other forwards have suffered, because of our lack of creativity, hence very few shots on target, virtually every match.

How about trying Ruel and Danny up front as a central striker pairing, moving Brophy into left wing/midfield to provide some ammunition for them !
Cant really do much worse can it ! Lastly, Wilko, despite being around 6'2'' tall wins next to nothing in the air, something wrong there, either lack of decent service or he is lacking in when it comes to the heading department !

I really think it is worth a try, as long as we can keep it on the floor and play around and through teams. Both, in my opinion are capable of turning big cumbersome centre halves and scoring goals. Let's face it, we seem to have exhausted everything else, to little or no avail, under the master tactician, so why not.

Nothing ventured nothing gained and lets face it, little to nothing up front at present apart from Ruel !

Played right back for years
Everyone in the right positions and played to your own strengths ie right and left side
Eventually we just had confidence in the keeper, offside sorted and how to hold onto a lead - none of this corner flag malarky, and if we scored and than gave a goal away immediately would not play the next week
could close my eyes and would know the move of midfield , and the run of the forwards, dont even look up but centre the ball on the penalty spot
This was old days with left/right halfs , exciting wingers, collussus at centre half and centre forward
Dont need a master tactician but needs an individual who believes a system and can share this with the team
Play and enjoy

Yes, as I said it is about opinions and we all have different views of it. Doesn't make you right and me wrong and obviously vice versa, all about opinions. At least he was on hand for the tap in. What did we create in the last 30 minutes ..... absolutely nothing, horrendous being a forward in this current set up.

He's left footed. That should be blindingly obvious anyone who's seen him play at least 5 minutes.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Can’t remember seeing him actually kick the ball, if I’m honest. Just chasing around after that ex Salford lump for 90 minutes.

Of course.

But all the others have had to contend with this formation and have fared better. Like, much better.

On this evidence of his goals scored since season 2014/15 to season 19/20 ( not including the goal he scored for the Os on Saturday ) he has scored slightly more goals with his left foot than his right foot. If we are to include the goal shown in the video, solo run that it is finished off by a right foot shot, then looking at the link below and counting up his recorded goals scored, then 24 with his left foot and 21 with his right foot. After finding videos of him taking penalties, then seems like he takes penalties with his left foot, so would seem he is 2 footed with his left foot as the natural stronger foot. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/danny-j ... ler/344525

Checking these statistics, seems like Danny is two footed with his Left as the stronger foot ( he takes penalties with his left foot ! )
Since season 14/15 goals recorded as 24 with his left foot and 21 with his right foot !
