Too many businesses have set up with a business model that in centred on paying low wages and allowing the country to pick up the tab when the employees are forced to claim benefits to be able to live. If they had to pay a decent living wage they’d go under, so that is one good thing that might come of all this

I agree, people need a living wage, 100%.

Why would they go under?

Wouldn't they just make less profit?

But if these companies have to pay proper wages then either:

They go under/abroad and the workers lose their jobs or

They have to increase their prices to make a profit and inflation means the workers are no better off.

It’s sad but there’s no way we can change the status quo.

Think the phrase unskilled Labour is a bit harsh

Granted, their leader is useless but some of them are alright

The new line is "we can not be blamed for anything as it was all the fault of another regime". As they were in the same party, at the same time did they not notice what was going on?

It’s clever social engineering, which they used at the election and people actually bought into it. I think I heard or read that it was the first time a sitting government had used that tactic to basically say “it wasn’t me, it was them and I won’t do that cos I’m me”. People clearly bought into it as Boris was able to distance himself from anything negative that may and others had done whilst in power.

The election of Trump, Boris and to an extent, Brexit has categorically proved that the electorate is absolutely fine with lies. As long as it’s what they want to hear.

You're taking a very relaxed attitude to lying politicians. Why aren't you denouncing a clear fiction?

I don't think any party has a monopoly on containing this type of a-hole. Clear fiction happens everywhere, everyday. it ain't going to go away, just get worse. The trick is to see when they are lying, often when their lips move as the saying goes.

Politicians have been lying since forever mate. This isn't a magical new strategy that Trump, Boris, Farage, Cummings etc. have invented

Not so. Whilst there is clearly some truth in your first sentence it's all about the level of lying. All the named a-holes above have taken lying to a new level, a new low, where they don't even give a crap if they're found out. It's a sad indictment on society at the moment that we tolerate lying self-serving scumbags of their ilk as our masters. It has never been as bad as it is now.

Cummings is Not a Politician

He is an unelected employee who thinks he runs the country.

Mate, politicians have always lied. The difference between now and then is the presence of social media and number of online ‘news’ sites making it easier for lies to spread
